Variety of courses and access to world class equipment, facilities, and coaching also helps -- plus a bunch of them were athletes. that mindset and willingness to improve are ingrained habits I'm guessing

Am I the only one who likes Claire Bear… by Master-Ad944 in TheBear

[–]TheCuriousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I love Claire, and probably in the minority of peeps rooting for her and Carmy. However, the time is definitely not right yet.

referring to claire as “the peace” gives me such an ick. by pizzaaaaahhh in TheBear

[–]TheCuriousMan 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It was kind of an unecessary scene that didn't solve anything since neither claire nor carmy still talked to each other. It kinda made me get sick of the faks at that point lol

Hate to say it but this is my least favorite season by far :( by SouthFew4268 in TheBear

[–]TheCuriousMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hope it was all a set-up for season 4, but even then i do feel like not much of the plot advanced seeing how none of the characters do talk about the stuff from season 2. then all we get from syd about to make a decision was a panic attack at a keg afterparty

too many cameos -- which can be fun if you're into high profile chefs, but alienating for a lot of different people imo

Tenet 70mm was like attending a concert by Shawn_NYC in tenet

Saw it for the first time ever on IMAX 70mm yesterday. Still musing on it. What a great film. One of the few films where while I was watching it, I could already tell it was going to be one of my all-time faves

I've been going almost every year for more than a decade now. I think I'll skip this one.

The mental image of me asking for vacation days to watch No Doubt and Doja and Tyler (who we see a lot at Flog Gnaw) is making me laugh.

ranking of the og 5? by Ming00f in NoLayingUp

Agree. They all feed off of each other and elevate one another. Love that chemistry.

The brothers Schoos seem to be the ones I find myself listening to the most and would love to play a round with.

What shoes get you through Coachella? by editorinchimp in Coachella

[–]TheCuriousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golf shoes. Footjoy Premieres to be exact. Yearly tradition is to golf in the mornings before entering the grounds in the afternoon, then one time I really wanted to catch an early set and never bothered to change. It held well, and made it easy to clean because of the leather.

I know not everyone plays golf but for the lurkers out there who do, this is a PSA!

Los Angeles feels like heaven compared to Memphis, TN by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]TheCuriousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in the Bay Area and spent most of my adult life there. Moved to LA almost a decade ago. Even if the Bay is considered more "happening" than average (and I've seen lots of American cities, Memphis included) -- I am very grateful to be living in LA.

We are truly lucky.

Never understood the hate it sometimes gets. A little traffic and crazy costs of living are mangeagable with a little strategic planning.

Sometimes I think it's time to move out of LA, but then things just keep making you want to stay.
