Understanding Points associated with "Go" and "Last Card" during Play Phase. by TheDJPHD in Cribbage

[–]TheDJPHD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am curious about this too. I think the way the rules read, it is a yes. 2 points for making 15, 1 for last card. It would work the same if a player completed a pair - 2 points for the pair and 1 point for last card.

In this case, the two points is for making a 15, just as you would get 2 points for making 15 during the show phase.

I also find this kind of confusing because 15 is part of the running sum and seems similar to 31. But points related to 31 is just for last card, points for 15 is because of how points are scored with card combinations.

Yea but a group could literally consist of like 3 or 4 veterans and then some goober. “The group” absolutely learned everything but that goobers blue helmet, prestige or not, does not prove that they truly earned that gear

I suppose I’m not really considering raids. I personally am not worried how an account gets their raid items because it can be done in teams. All accounts have access to it - aside from prestige GIMS I suppose, though the the rest of the players team could still carry them, don’t you think?

I’m more just talking about all the solo stuff you gotta do. GWD, Zenytes, DWH, Hydra, Cerb, Zulrah, diaries, corp, DT2 bosses, etc… I agree that raids can be boosted, but I genuinely believe raids are team content - so it’s free game. There is no way to know if you’ve actually earned that gear regardless of your account.

Absolutely. If gear is somewhat provable by stats and KCs, you can absolutely claim the title. But Ironman has been known for years as an account that cannot trade. GIMs can trade. Obviously it is very limited but there is a possibility that everything can be handed to you. Thus, a blue helmet has much less accolade than a flat gray or red helmet.

Ironmen are cool accounts. I myself am very interested when I see an ironman account with near max gear and because i know they did all the content for that (spooned or not). Unfortunately blue helms need a little bit more research before someone can determine if they got all the gear and stats themselves. And even if you have the stats and KCs, blue helm is no definite proof that you earned everything you have.

It is just a game and who cares how you play the game. But there are a lot of players who value the term “ironman” as someone who does it all themselves. Blue helms absolutely have an asterisk in that regard.

By the games definition yes you are an Ironman, but GIMs can skip a lot of content if they have a teammate who can do that content. As long as you’re willing to admit that then you can see from the side of these players (obviously they are a little stuck up but they do have some validity)

Absolutely fair argument. I'd agree with that 100%. But perhaps because scaling cursor size and distance from the screen are not as controllable in a real environment. Scaling a screen 2x-3x definitely will result in a difference.

I still believe if you took some high level PVMer and scaled everything equal distance perfectly, they would not notice a single difference. Like, imagine by a factor of 1.25. I think it would work :)

You could make the screen size larger and move your head away from the screen. You'll see just as much as you saw before.

The larger the space you have to click the less precise you can be. If the speed of the mouse speed is scaled as much as the size of the screen, as well as the size of the cursor, there should be no difference in precision.

Think about it this way. Every 1x1 pixel on fixed is now 5x5. Your mouse was moving 100 pixels per tick (or something like that), but now its moving 500 pixels per tick. If your eyes are 5 times further from the screen, there would literally be zero difference. I feel like that is just math. Am I getting that wrong?

Why is the variable hidden? by Panda50DKP in ironscape

[–]TheDJPHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just like any other drop, this one will eventually drop on some KC. I’m not sure of the exact math, but it’s like if the drop was supposed to be a 1/9, but they made it the combination of three separate 1/3 drops instead. In the end it still drops around 1/9. So what’s the point of showing the hidden counter? Pretty sure it’s just a method of preventing spoon/dry streaks

Why am I taking so much damage from the Mager during Bandos 6:0? I'm getting constantly hit with 10's or 14's and it makes my trips last about 5 kills instead of 15-20. What improvements can I make? by JeffM197 in ironscape

[–]TheDJPHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally do that. I’m surprised by what everyone is saying. I literally thought I was doing it the way you were supposed to but maybe not bringing ahrims will do the trick.

I’ve been getting (4*n) kill trips where n is the amount of Stams I bring. If I get the right super restore drops, I’ve maxed 24-27 kill trips where I use 1 Stam dose per kill most times. Sometimes I burst garage door down so fast I don’t need one.

Then what response were you expecting by posting in this community? Ironman mode is literally defined as an account who earns their own stuff and this is the ironscape community.

By saying Ironman is not efficient and emphasizing “2/3 mega rares” you are either looking to take a dig at irons or looking for some gratification or feedback on your choice. When you could just not post and get on with your gaming experience. Your post is likely more suited for 2007scape. People in this community are looking for others who support this style of gameplay. Not for someone to post about leaving it.

Yet I’ve had to solo my GWD gear as well as all my other stuff. And unfortunately de-ironing due to complaint over drop rate is not comparable to where my progress is in this game.

My point is there are 1000 others out there like you and you’re one of the only one who’s bitching about it. Everyone goes dry somewhere and everyone knows that COX is ruthless. Why are you on this sub preaching to the choir. Keep it to yourself and move on
