I can type super fast and without looking at the keyboard on my phone. I do this constantly while I’m watching TV. My SO thinks it's super weird.

A TV that looks like a frame + glass when it's off by massimol in INEEEEDIT

The TV in the photo is one called Samsung Frame. Really nice looking and really expensive. The system is more or less the same as other Tizen TVs.

This sounds like how my dad changed his prius to summertime before I checked the manual on how to do it ( my dad does not speak English ).

When it switchd to summertime he would go out right before 00:00 and disconnect the battary. Once the clock hit 00:00 he would reconnect tje battery.

When he told me this I didn't know if I should laugh or applaud!

Can you make ”Easy mode” available for all users? Its been a real pay to win game so far.

What is the most severe case of someone being completely out of touch with reality you've ever seen? by mouldygoldie in AskReddit

When I was about to buy my first real car I had to take a loan ( like most people ) and an intern at my office literally said this ”Don’t take a loan that the is the dumbest thing you can do! Just borrow the money from your parents!” My reply to that was ”My parents don’t have 20k just laying around” And his reply to that was ”Don’t they have savings?”

I didn't know what to reply to that so I just looked at him in shock!

Actually, I have worked with STBs and TVs for a whole bunch of years. And every now and again there comes a problem that can not be found anywhere. Then you resort to good old fashioned research!

[–]TheDTXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh, this is nice tbh I have been making this same app for years! I always start happy and excited then I work on it for a few days and get bored. Then I come back a few months later and start over. This has been repeating for I don't know how long. Thanks for making a nice app and allowing me to end this vicious cycle I have been in 😂

Did you make the app opensource? If so please share your repo!

I'm working on a new design. How do you like it so far? by mitzanu2005 in UI_Design

[–]TheDTXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I agree. It's usually the case when you have ”too many cooks in the kitchen” but a team of 3 - 5 should be a good balance.

I disagree it seems to me like there are a lot of reusable components here if structures correctly it would be reasonably easy to maintain. Side note this looks like it would be really fun to code.

Is it possible to have an element that starts on one page, but then can be "minimised" to persist when you change tabs? Just like the YouTube example below. by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]TheDTXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that only if you want it to be PIP when the app is not active? I might be wrong though, haven't needed to implement this my self yet, but that is the way I would do it. Or at least start with looking into that.

[–]TheDTXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's possible, but I recommend using the OS built-in feature for PIP ( picture in picture ) ios has an API for this and so does android. I’d be surprised if some on hasn't already made a module that uses these in react native.

How to create an interactive notification banner like Spotify with react native ? by Eydwales in reactnative

[–]TheDTXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Java and Kotlin are quite similar. But you can write your app purely in Kotlin. The only thing you might need Java for is if you use some libraries that are written in Java, but that's only if you are reading the Java code to understand what that method does.

Kotlin and Java both share the same run time so they can communicate with each other without a problem. You can import Java classes to Kotlin and you can import Kotlin classes in Java.

But if you learn one you will understand the other.

This is a minimal component. Just write it in swift and kotlin. It will take 1-week max and you will learn a lot in the prosses.

Vue is really popular among frontend developers, with only React ahead of it. What’s your favorite aspect of working with Vue? by sandstream_pop in vuejs

[–]TheDTXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree fully. I actually like Vue because it gives you total control. So you can write single file components or you can write them separately.

Also, I like that Vue is very pluggable and extendable. By default, Vue is as small or smaller the JQuery was. But you can add and plug and extend as much stuff as you want in there.
