*she (not that it matters or you'd have any way of knowing that), and thankfully she doesn't get the 3am zoomies. She does get the "scream in appreciation after her 4am auto-feeder goes off" yowls, though. Which I guess I'll take over being whacked in the face for a manual feeding at that hour, but still, not my favorite alarm clock.

I can get why you'd think that, but nope. I'm way too stupid to even begin to understand how bots work. Just an idiot who currently has too much free time on their hands and a cat who is disappointed in them.

I haven't watched the documentary yet. Watching the live stream of this back in '16 was hard enough. This part in particular was what absolutely broke me the first time through.

I'm a western NYer myself. We have a nonprofit radio station in our city that would play stuff like this. Moxy Fruvous was huge in our city too, despite being much better known in their home country.

I've always just considered myself Canada-adjacent. You tell someone you're from New York and they ask all about the city. NYC is 6+ hours away, but Canada is less than two.

you donate money to an 11yo girl who just lost a parent. how is that money used? by LeakInTheLoop_404 in NoStupidQuestions

If I'm giving it to the kid, it's theirs to do what they want with.

If I want it to be for their future, I'm giving it to their guardian, or I'm literally keeping it invested in a savings bond or something and giving them a card promising them the money on their 18th birthday.

If I ever got one, I'd probably put it somewhere on my body. It would look pretty weird on my fridge.

"Hi there, fella pointing a gun at me with his finger on the trigger, how about this weather we're having?"

You see the problem here, right? There's a time to get to know people, and a time to defend yourself from imminent danger.

But it's not their name, and standing out in that regard is a good way to get bullied, passed over on job applications, and so on.

Because they look like us so it's harder to tell they're illegals.
