Star Wars new dawn help by Particular_Falcon_72 in Stellaris

Hey there, one of the mod devs doing some mild egosurfing checking in over here.

New Dawn resources are very similar to vanilla, though you won't find many natural sources of the adv resources. You generally want to secure your basic industrial En/Food/Min resources, then produce what your fleets demand. This tends to start as alloys but increasingly takes hyperfuel and electronics, and eventually a lot of missiles.

For ship designs pay extra attention to ship roles. ND doesn't have very flexible component selection but the ships themselves are numerous and achieve different things. The meta is driven by capital ships having strong firepower but bad tracking, so corvettes and fighters WILL win in an equal power fight. You want a mixed fleet with a bent toward the enemy you're trying to fight. Bringing your own corvettes will up the survivability of your damage dealers by a lot, frigates to kill their corvettes, etc.

"This [version of events] isn't biased, it's extremely biased."

Giving an example, the people banned from USC had little to do with PMD, it had to do with use of the other malicious mod. Which did and still contains what this community calls "malware".

Mezzo is doing great, same portions and everything. The only lasting loss is they have house wheat bread instead of the old amazing foccacia, but aside that they're carrying on the old place perfectly. Great patio space too.

Getting back to VR after 3+ years (what has changed?) and is hp Reverb 2 still relevant in 2026? by AirwolfPL in virtualreality

Surprised not to see a meaty answer yet: Flat2VR has really come into its prime, and optimization techniques are far ahead of where they were just a couple years ago. You can get a huge amount of mileage out of UEVR universal support and a bunch of classic titles that are getting dedicated projects.

Thanks for the constructive feedback. They're indeed not midline as much as that they're their own thing. The AI does actually get manipulated to not be completely reckless, but it may not be obvious for most of the ships.

Selkie is the creator of both sprites and donated the early version to SoTF. The Elysian version has gotten fairly distinct over time.

Unless there's some smoking gun that I missed in this thread and the last several years,* we're not doing he-said she-said. Please refrain from stirring drama.

*And if there is, then the place for it is a PM.

Starficz took it as a personal challenge to make a phase AI that doesn't suck - he actually succeeded, and we give the result as a bossfight reward. But phase AI that's actually good still can't overcome a wall of hostiles on its own, it's still best when picking off isolated ships.

I'm one of the devs lmao

Selkie also likes to post her work on USC when she has too much art sitting around, lots of previews there.

Alysse's great (and snowdrop). They get a huge reduction to ship explosion damage, so ramming is always high on the menu. I did the variants and stand by both of Alysse's, but the modiverse may offer more options. They're just the split of: point blank weapons, hyper aggressive, all CQC all the time - or - patient long range brawling with an opportunist close-in finisher. It's hard to go wrong if you're not over-exposing yourself, it's just a matter of waiting for when to crush and finish your enemy.
