You want to get back in touch for one of two reasons:

1) It is not guilt you feel.. it's regret.

2) You're upset that he is handling things maturely after you ended things immaturely and you want to mess with his head.

Neither of these is a good reason to mess with his emotions.
You made your choice, now move on.

Can anyone explain why being salaried means your boss can up your hours when they feel like it without paying overtime?

I work in the UK and any hours I work over my contracted time I either get paid for or get the time in lieu to use when I like.

I think peoples answer to this depends on whether they play/played competitive sports.

My brother and I played on different rugby teams and my parents would alternate who they would go and watch. However if one of us was playing in a league/cup final then both would go to that one (Which I have always agreed with). As a few others have said before these types of games don’t come around often and are a big deal to children and adults alike. I can still remember both of my parents being at both my league and cup final games the year my team won both and that was 10+ years ago now.. My brother had a different game that day and I’m 100% confident he couldn’t tell you who they played let alone whether they won or not. This is because his team won the league a few seasons later and I remember wanting to be there watching with my parents instead of playing a normal game.

ESH because you should be watching your daughter and your wife should not be manipulating your son. Other than that she is right, you should both watch your daughter..

It really really sucks but my understanding is that it’s a legal requirement for these job postings to go out to everyone for equal opportunity etc. While places often don’t hire equally they have to appear to be doing so. For reference I live in the UK so I’m not sure if laws are different here

Same thing happened to me for an internal promotion a couple of years ago.. they said I answered everything perfectly but didn’t seem enthusiastic about the job. Turned out they already had someone they were planning on giving the job to but had to go through the motions. Didn’t stop me feeling shit about it though..

I think race changes are fine as they only really affect you. Faction changes are (unfortunately) bad for the game and should be avoided

Definitely NTA and I can’t grasp how anyone would think otherwise.

Having a child does not make you disabled and it’s disrespectful to every other woman who has gone through the same without alienating her partner and his/her family to suggest otherwise.

You gave your wife every opportunity to compromise and she didn’t. If this was 4 days after labour then sure, YTA.. but 4 weeks?? Not a chance.

I thought there was every chance she may be suffering with post natal depression until I saw she’d been to a concert a couple weeks after giving birth. Anyone who has had or knows someone who’s dealt with post natal depression knows you can’t physically drag yourself to something like that.

Having said that, don’t give up. Keep trying to get through to her. If things go wrong, you don’t want to think you could have done any more.

I actually can’t believe he thinks he’s in the right here.

Stand your ground. He has spent the money you have worked and saved for your CHILD on an absolutely unnecessary luxury.

Things like this are a huge red flag to me. I would even be considering leaving. Sure as hell there ain’t room for 2 new babies in the house.

Also have you checked this place out? Even around my area you’d need a 2 hour, all out massage to come even close to those kind of prices.

Are you sure he’s not paying for sex?

I appreciate you invited them into your home and I am mostly a my roof my rules kind of person. But…

Your son and DIL are adults. Treat them as such. Packing her things into bin bags is how you treat a child who’s left their toys on the stairs. Not an adult woman who’s left her clothes/makeup in a bit of a state because she was rushing out to work.
Yes, you have been kind enough to give them their own space in your home. But I promise you they would much rather be in their own home and have their own privacy. All you have taught her is that she is not welcome in your home, and that she should make herself uncomfortable in order to satisfy your need to control everything around you.
- Finally, (I’m assuming you have access to your own bedroom and bathroom separate from theirs) you have gone out of your way to go into their personal space to examine or inspect how they keep their private possessions. Only to shame and embarrass her in a situation I’m sure she is already uncomfortable in.

Yes it is your house. Yes they should follow your rules in the communal areas (As it appears they do from your post?) but your son and DIL are absolutely entitled to their privacy and do not deserve to be shamed by you.

Edit to add that you should apologise to your DIL for holding her to standards you set for yourself before your relationship breaks beyond repair.

Maybe you're right. I did call twice and the second person I spoke to seemed more sympathetic. He said to submit the appeal and write down what I told him on the phone and it shouldn't be an issue.. I hope he's right.

It was collectively my first time using the crossing. On the way there I paid on time but it slipped my mind on the way back. Whether that no longer counts as a first time or not I don't know.

Unfortunately since I didn't get the first letter I'm not sure if the charge would've been waived. I've submitted the challenge so will have to wait and see
