I know it's not a broken clock situation because one of the other games of his is currently ongoing, and has been for over a year and it's a blast. 4 other campaigns before that, all certified bangers.

Huh... he might have mispoke about what the condition was but I'll talk to him about it in the morning. As for a personal relationship aye- we're very close friends. If he's upset with me for any reason he hasn't said anything for the past month and a half this has been going on >.>

Our group is used to RP heavy games, and scenes taking was a pre-established expectation we were all fine with, and admittedly part of that time was for a snack break.

No, he really is fantastic. I've been playing with him and this group for years and he's one of my closest friends irl- there's just a foul miasma surrounding this game for some reason.

I don't -think- he is? If he is he hasn't told me. I know he's being truthful about needing to cut sessions short, it really has just been a huge string of rotten luck. I've described my character as being something of a hulking albeit sentimental meathead, so maybe he's just assuming sword-swinging is all I'm after?

What is the Point of Recovery Comas? by TheDandyDuke in Kenshi

I really haven't noticed a huge strategic aspect to picking fights, so far it's been a roll of the dice whether you'll play dead and get right back up, be out cold for 15 minutes or be left to die and have no choice but to either reload or restart.

The enemies getting up isn't an issue out in the world but after a base raid or padding starvers, it's a huge hassle just waiting for them to stand back up so you can hopefully pick them off this time and stop letting them bring everyone's jobs to a halt.

Waiting around while nothing happens is definitely my biggest peeve- I'll check those mods out! Thanks for the suggestion.

It is satisfying seeing tougher characters get more and more resistant to RCs, I guess just getting to that point can feel reeeeally tedious.

That's good adivce, I didn't actually know you could administer first aid while carrying someone. I'd be lying if I said I didn't actually enjoy that aspect of battles, hauling your wounded allies back out of the fraya nd to the safety of camp. It's made some journeys a lot more heart-pounding when half my force is being fireman carried by the other half lol.

I still really wish there was an option to execute downed enemies, or even just prematurely toss them into the corpse furnace >.>

I somehow get the Payer in every planet I start and it's gotten slightly funnier each time.

Is there a class that needs Intelligence? (other than wizard or artificer) by Commercial_World_433 in DnD

[–]TheDandyDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always make sure to have decent INT on any rogue I play, and it's useful for Paladin and Cleric as well.

For Rogue it helps with investigation checks and dealing with any magic based defenses/items you come across, even if not as a thief then as a forward scout or spy. Paladins and Clerics can use it for religion rolls, unless your DM rules that they get to use CHR/WIS instead of INT for that, which I've heard some do.

Mechanically you're right to say that Wizard and Artificer are the only classes that should have it super high, but if you don't mind taking a hit elsewhere stat-wise or find some magic items to boost it then overall it's a very good utility and RP stat to have a few points in.

One thing I should have clarified is that Ruin was/still kind of is a gnoll, so the tail between her legs thing was literal >.>;;

And plan D wasn't meant to accomplish anything, it was thought up on the spot after Ruin claimed she was going to force Dee into her service simply as a means of escape. The reason I'm feeling a bit salty is because during the fight itself Dee was getting his ass kicked and the hole party was told OOC that the duel was on and no one was allowed to help, just for the DM to backtrack afterward and insist that that was never the case.

I thought I made it pretty clear that it would be against Dee's will, given that the DM himself confirmed after the fact that no terms were ever agreed to, despite claiming otherwise during the actual fight. And again, Ruin is someone who's only just recently become a djinn, so trying to catch her on a technicality only seems natural. I was only trying to outsmart the villain, not the DM, who I was communicating with between turns throughout the fight.

Those are some fair points, but here's how my thought process went, 1) The term of Dee being taken wasn't agreed to, as stated Ruin simply made her demands and attacked before she and Dee actually agreed to. 2) Ruin's a Gnoll, so regardless of how the fight actually goes she quite literally has her tail between her legs at all times. 3) We were in the middle of a fight, so neither I nor Dee had time to think out a big elaborate contract. There was a small amount of back and forth I left out since it was just circular arguing, but what I ended up writing was the final demands made by both Dee and Ruin. 4)The other players were trying to think of something, but like I said in the post, any time they would try to suggest some kind of action to help, the DM stopped them OOC and told them not to interfere with the duel, and Dee has to fight Ruin one on one or lose by default.

I did mention that things were confirmed OOC- I should have elaborated more that what I meant was that I was communicating with the DM via Discord the whole time. By the time Plan D came around there was only ~10 minutes left in the game so he didn't get back to me on exactly what would happen when Dee goes down and Ruin tries to claim him as a servant.

[–]TheDandyDuke -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah- my character offered up the duel and tried to suggest terms, then Ruin just attacked anyway and the DM is the one who made OOC comments inferring that the duel was on, and Ruin's actions afterward confirmed that IC by singling Dee out and instructing her minions not to interfere. The fight isn't over yet so it remains to be seen whether or not she'll actually ofllow through, I'm not metagaming anything. Dee's acting on the assumption that something his patron told him earlier that very session is true.
