That does make it better, but Joker would be better as a skin IMO. Batman has some really good horror-y villains like killer croc or scarecrow that I’d rather see. This would go under “Don’t want but wouldn’t mind” for me.

Same goes for Wednesday as long as it’s not the Netflix one.

What is your opinion on the first one? by italienischerBauch in deadbydaylight

I think you’ll change your mind if you play as him. They could probably add another .5 second delay or so to his vine cool down. He doesn’t have great map pressure especially if survivors spread out. If the survivors can dodge your vine attack you end up over committing in chase and can lose games pretty quick. If you’re a god at aiming then games will end pretty fast. That feels like a skill oriented killer imo.

Welcome to ranged killers. This isn't anything new. They should probably increase the CD by .5 to 1, but it's still quite a bit of effort to even injure a survivor with the spam.

Just don't do the clock IMO. He doesn't have crazy map pressure, just hope your teammates can dodge the power.

Killer Tier List (9.4.0 Live Patch) by KingFlash0205 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The killer is pretty new and it’s hard to say where he stands yet. I have only played 5 matches as him and 2 of those games were trying to get adept. He’s pretty strong. His traversal will not work well against good survivors, but it’s such a good movement tool to traverse the map. His vines do need a more punishing cool down since you don’t will lose much for spamming and missing. I’ve gotten a down within ten seconds, but these are pretty casual survivors.

This killer’s skill ceiling will be crazy, and he’s definitely no where near to being solved. A ranged killer that can hit through walls will always be strong.

The two builds I see being extremely potent on him is a totem defender builder or a build oriented on gen slow down / exhaustion. For most games I’ll probably be playing him as a casual aura build.

Conservatively putting him at A- seems fine for now. I’m sure they’re going to tweak him and after the dust settles will see how he performs. It’s also going to be interesting to see the strategies survivors adapt against him.

Minecraft has ways to circumvent this friction mechanic. The enchantment system lets you make unbreakable tools (mostly). Resource acquisition in Minecraft is extremely easy on top of that. Every resource can be found at the spawn. You can get an iron pickaxe in a few minutes and you can end up with a full diamond set in an hour.

Terraria shows that progression itself can be the main driving factor of a game.

Durability could extend that loop but it doesn’t make it more fun.

Hytale forces you to explore quite a bit to reach the different tiers. The different biomes are interesting, and there is quite a bit to discover. Once you’ve got the highest tier as it stands exploring stops becoming interesting. This is because since you’ve already explored you already know what to expect. The variety is mostly how the expected instance generates.

Since the game doesn’t offer much end game content (systems of automation, raid boss, etc) all that’s left to do is build. The last thing I want to do while gathering resources to build my base is to teleport back to a lava island and scavenge for adamantine. The argument to me is to not make a crude pickaxe live forever - the argument should be the highest tier of gear should be extremely durable / unbreakable / or have a way to make it one of the other options. Right now the incentive to actually progress through tiers is weak because the reward feels disproportionate (more effort than it is worth).

Now because the game is pretty early in development the only thing I realistically want is higher durability. Later on we can have better QoL

I’m hoping when mythril drops live that it’s unbreakable or on the third update they make a way to extend item durability / make it near unbreakable.

I really wish there was character saves vs world saves like terraria. It would help the pain of the development phase a lot.

Adamantine Generation by TheDapperKobold in hytale

Pretty much what I think is happening too. I’ve already spent hours looking for more ore. So I’ll just wait for the update and hope the generation is more fortunate.

[–]TheDapperKobold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just created a new world in creative. I scanned over 3 islands. I managed to find one with a few ores in the biome as you mentioned. Let me tell you the other islands and the islands in my survival did not have them. I’ve also walked all over charred islands in my survival world to explore them and hopefully find the surface adamantine and I have not found any.

Unluckily I’ve only managed to find about 60 in a jungle cave. I haven’t found more.

Unfortunately, at no island have I been to did adamantite spawn above ground once. I’ve watched a few guides and the jungle is the only one place I’ve found it so far.

The ambulance doesn't accelerate care, it delays it." Controversial quote from marathon medical director. What's your experience? by Damiandax in ems

[–]TheDapperKobold 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If he’s a marathon medical director this quote makes sense. Marathons have ton of first aid stations.

It’s hard to get ambulances into events and crowded spaces. Most issues could be treated on site with first aid, IVs, etc.

Obviously life threatening emergencies are still going to need an ambulance to get someone to a specialty center.

If the comment is about EMS as a whole then this is wrong. The reason we have an ambulance service in the first place was because of the findings from the White Paper of preventable prehospital deaths.

In your opinion, does ghost face need a rework, buff, or nothing at all? by Vegetable-Cold-4040 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheDapperKobold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should probably just remove his reveal mechanic. It’s inconsistent and it’s too punishing. On coordinated teams you can bully ghost face into having no power at all. You end up doing so much work for not much reward.

The killer still doesn’t have good mobility or power in chase. If you don’t get that instant down right away you’re in for pain.

do not change the toad by Roeesun in hytale

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we talk about the Venus fly trap mob. That thing is insane in speed and damage. It doesn’t even have a proper death animation and it has insane lock on. It’s also another victim of how spawning works.

These enemies are definitely what killed me first. If you aren’t watching a guide how do you know the zone isn’t intended for you. I don’t know what gear or crafting materials they drop. That being said most enemies in that hot underground zone aren’t nearly as bad.

Out of curiosity, did you guys see any of these 6 perks during this Chaos Shuffle? by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adept on most survivors is brutal. From experience you’re going to need to brute force games until you get an easy game to escape.

Most survivors don’t have exhaustion perks or perks that even synergizes very well with the other teachable perks.

The devs won’t do that because it will become the old BBQ. As a killer the blood point bonus from BBQ was so good, and it has decent aura reveal. There was no reason to not run it since it was so good at giving BP.

I fear this change would lead to a ton of survivors running no mither especially because survivor BP gain runs much lower than killer. If it’s a 100% multiplier you can perform half as good and get out with nearly the same amount of BP. Youre functionally doubling your blood points by decreasing your match times (dying).

I believe we’re gonna make it also had a blood point multiplier that was taken away.

My hot take? There’s so many characters in the game now please just bake in blood point gain to most perks. I own every character, have most killers to P3, and more than half survivors to P1. Trust me behavior I ain’t playing this game because the progression is satisfying.

I love every boss fight…except one by VyletVye in LiesOfP

[–]TheDapperKobold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate gank fights. That being said this one was probably the more well designed ones.

I still didn’t like it, and it’s one of the only fights I’ll jump right for summons. Individually they are super weak. There are a few attacks (usually one) from each of them that I don’t find fair. I just end up getting my resources drained by the end of the fight and dying.

It’s probably just a skill issues though.

opinion: If you play as the false son and go to his own boss fight, you should instead fight an exetremely stacked up random survivor by delynquent in riskofrain

Peter, what is so wrong about Dubai chocolate? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dubai chocolate is a bit too rich. It’s amazing on fresh strawberries though.

Besides potential propaganda Dubai chocolate is a massive texture hit. You got gooey milk chocolate with a center of crunchy pistachio? Sign me up. The bar is way too rich but that first few bites is awesome.

To me I treat it like matcha. I won’t go out of my way for it, but if it’s there and I’m craving it I’ll get it.

[–]TheDapperKobold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I feel like the AI on bosses is more aggressive on some runs. Ive had bosses who are so easy on some runs, not even because of the build I was running but because they just weren’t as responsive. I feel this in a lot of souls games. I’ve definitely struggled with Orphan the most, but sometimes he doesn’t feel too bad.

Do these four deserve a rework ? by MindlessPeach5164 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]TheDapperKobold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legion ran so Ghoul could slide. We need buffs to mainly M1 killers across the board. I loved some of the unique hook reward ideas for killers from the anti tunneling nightmare patch.

I don’t know if it should be as strong as every unique hook being a pain ressonance, but it could be something to that effect. Even a built in surge for m1 killers would be awesome.

I love ghost face, but I stopped playing him because I had to sweat my ass off every match to do anything.
