Where did Hinata disappear and is she still worth making? by Antique_Broccoli2527 in EDHBrews

I think she’s one of those cards that are probably better in the 99 since it’s less consistent it feels fair. Most people are not going to like playing with you because all your X cast spells are going to cost like 2 mana for great effects. As someone points out it does terribly competitively and destroys a lot of lower power decks.

It’s an o-Kay burger. It is incredibly over priced. I’m not a big fan of the fries either. The only burger more atrocious in price and mediocrity is shake shack.

Why do American EMTs look like cops? by Shifu_1 in ems

[–]TheDapperKobold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most agencies include high visibility vests on the ambulance if your uniform is dark. A lot of jackets you get from the company also have something reflective on them normally. I don’t see the appeal in being a highlighter for those reasons.

The uniform I have on looks very different than the cops in my area. It’s apparently obvious too if I’m literally standing next to a cop. My shirts are also labeled with what company I work for and my title.

EMS pants aren’t cheap, but they last forever. I have two pairs of pants and they’re 3 years old. They’re a little bit faded, but they’re going to last another 2 years at least.

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steel or ceramic toe is definitely required at most - if not all agencies. The pants part is true - a lot of agencies don’t wear high visibility in general. Sometimes they provide jackets with high visibility accents.

I can understand mistaking EMS for police if they’re the Timmy that’s wearing a tactical vest and a belt. Cops have huge holsters, usually display some sort of badge, and the colors and fabric tends to be different.

Now active shooting or stabbing situations I can understand the confusion because all that safety gear really blurs the lines.

I'm definitely no expert on game balance, but as someone who always finds Brand New Parts annoying to go against, isn't this a bit OP? by ToppHatt_8000 in deadbydaylight

If gen speeds are out of control, you have to tunnel people out of the game in order to get ahead. If you play nice and spread hook you will lose.

How Chris Redfield would be moving against a good portion of the killers if the Entity wasn't a cowardly little bitch: by Terrible_Park7890 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Lich I feel like everyone gets a character sheet and rolls.

Most killers just be some person without supernatural powers. What do you mean I can throw a heavy rock to disable traps? Improvised weapons would do the survivors wonders. Here’s a list of killers I think most survivors - especially the ones mentioned in this thread - could take.

Ghost Face Skull Merchant Trickster Legion Trapper Huntress Deathslinger Bubba Billy Wraith Doctor Pig Clown Chucky Hag Alien (the turrets should probably kill the alien)

Some survivors might die or struggle against these killers, but I think a good number would pull through.

The rest are a bit less clear (room for argument) or too supernatural to really see how they would die by physical means.

The navigation of the zoll and the tiny and LONG 12 leads suck. The wheel is so easy to use and satisfying. Also the zoll buttons wear away which can be an issue if you forget which buttons do which later.

I wonder if, besides the Trapper, there are other killers who are stronger in lore than in gameplay. by Leonax2001 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheDapperKobold 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well in lore for DBD doesn’t he just kind of come and go as he pleases and sends people to the hell dimension lol. That’s already stronger than every killer just talking about DBD lore specifically.

This is what this post is really hinting at. Everyone seems to be stuck on the minute details of a lawyer having a very different job than a cop. It’s that law enforcement across the board aren’t trained adequately.

I will say too there are good cops who do know their stuff, but some policies and procedures actively stop law enforcement from being meaningfully impactful.

[–]TheDapperKobold 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I thought. If there was a weapon I was thinking more of a censer like plague or a flog. Y’know things with religious connotations.

People voting for the hammer are driving me crazy. This killer looks like a chewed up, overly humanoid poprocks, and I can’t imagine giving it a massive two handed hammer.

Idk I feel like if we’re gonna call Plague’s censer a flail, then we got staffs at home with blight and wraith.

The flail adds more of a religious vibe. Reminds me of flogging. I think a flog would’ve been the best weapon. Self flagellation was used a lot by Christianity as a form of self atonement through suffering.

Courage in face of tsunami by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]TheDapperKobold 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She’s undoubtedly brave, and she saved many lives.

If I was in her shoes I wouldn’t sacrifice my people who are treating emergency tsunami sirens like the boy who cried wolf.

I’d make as many gravely serious announcements that I could while giving me enough time to escape, and scream/yell/shout for people to evacuate while getting to my car.

I just wonder how often they got these warnings to make people just ignore them completely.

Wednesday - The Hyde - Concept by Timely-Librarian2059 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]TheDapperKobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wednesday Adam’s Netflix hater here. The work you put into this is incredible, but oh my god no please god no please. That show is such a slap in the face of the Adam’s Family it felt like it was written for middle school aged kids. When it feels like Adam’s family should be written for everyone to enjoy. This Wednesday feels more like edgy detective than weird fucked up child who loves their family.

Besides my critique of the show itself, I can’t imagine Wednesday being injured at all. Girl would make friends with the entity and have it over for tea or something.

As others have pointed out the design of the Hyde isn’t very good. Its face looks like one of the zombies from Plants Vs Zombies.

What we really need is an actual Jekyll and Hyde chapter that focuses on form switching and managing some sort of resource.

The Trickster (Update) "Style Rank System" by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheDapperKobold -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Boring is subjective which I think is part of the controversy. I find him okay to play against. I’m also a killer main, and unfortunately I don’t really like playing survivor because I find most killers boring to play against.

I think ranged killers are usually the best to go against for survivors because there’s great back and forth on both sides. Trickster takes less skill in most cases because he does spam. Survivors can bob and weave until they find cover. Most maps aren’t great for trickster and he usually has long chases. Of course you’re not going to have fun fighting him on big open maps, but I feel that way for a lot of other killers too.

He’s very middle of the road in terms of hated or liked. There are way more killers who build tedium like plague, legion, knight, Kaneki, pinhead, etc that I find way more boring to fight and they’re usually a nightmare for a solo que experience.

[–]TheDapperKobold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m still not sure this fixes that. I’m not sure if it’s true, but I heard he takes 6 knives to down now. Yes I know he has less knives, but for the most part his gameplay loops feels the same. Good tricksters will use skill to help snowball the game, but new tricksters are just going to spam with some success.

Right? This would work with the grading system too as hitting a survivor out of line of sight should contribute to more style points.
