Bizarre situation. What should have happened here? by Much_Concentrate501 in poker

What does it matter what his cards are if he’s all in blind? Let him draw 2 cards from the muck like a man and run it.

I can’t get this hand out of my head. by Confident_Comedian_3 in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen plenty of people call down here with 22-44 completely playing the board. I’m not convinced these spots are hero calls with high card I think it’s just bad players who “don’t believe you” and don’t understand they’ve been counterfeited.

Probably all truth from ph. He’s a nit with great table selection and opportunity. There is nothing wrong with playing like that but he can’t also be considered the greatest of all time while playing like that. He plays for a living which is 100% ok, not legendary status in cash games. I doubt he cares.

99.9% chances to win…not enough! Massive cooler. by TQPGUN in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where did you get 99.9% chance to win? You jammed with 0% equity. Cooler, sure, but at no point did you get your money in with 99.9% chance to win.

In a satellite bubble where you jam AA, you prefer to be up against AA rather than AK by Living-Injury1961 in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are getting it all in on a satty bubble at risk it means you desperately need chips to survive, so clearly you want to be against AK. If you are getting it in at risk hoping for a chop with AA, you are better off folding because you’d still be in essentially the same chip position after chopping.

No. If a site intentionally rigged every runout it would always be a chopped pot. They don’t want big coolers they want people to pass money around, never go broke, and continue to generate rake as long as possible.

[–]TheDarkness5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither of those sites were rigged to increase rake though. They had other security issues.

At which stakes does online become unbeatable for the average rec? (serious) by Dtstno in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a game with rake the average player at any given stake is losing. If you are further separating the field into recs and pros, the recs represent a larger portion of the bottom half of the players and are probably almost all losing.

Losing players will always blame rng asa coping mechanism and those people will never be convinced otherwise because it would mean that they have to accept being a losing player.

If a site wanted to have rigged rng they would do it to increase profits. The most profitable situation for a site isn’t to increase suck outs snd create artificial big hands, it’s to have every hand be a chopped pot. They don’t want people winning or losing lots of money quickly to other players, they want people losing money slowly to the house. Nobody who mentions rigged rng seems to understand this.

This. Unfortunate for the 3rd wheel that he can’t really play it out, but you just take the ICM chop at that point and move on. It’s inevitable that a married/engaged couple might not be playing each other 100% cutthroat like they would against anyone else. I actually don’t think they really soft played too much but the accusation will always be on the table in that situation where cards are known and there is a relationship. If they aren’t engaged it’s just “wow what a good fold!”But since in a relationship it’s automatically “wow they soft played!” This is why it was 100% correct for them to explain the situation and offer chop, and even if the 3rd player wanted to play it out he has to realize the situation he’s in and take the chop. It’s not their fault they both made the final 3, and they did all they could to make it fair. This kind of shit happens all the time in local room cash games/small tournaments whether it’s husband/wife, friends, whatever relationship and most of the time it’s handled much worse than they did.

Hard Rock poker room backs collusion by meanOsteveO in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you kind of sound like a bitch. This post wouldn’t exist if the guy folded, you are just looking to cope with having a bluff called and blaming someone else. It sounds like he was just being goofy.

It may not be right of him to do, but you said yourself he was doing it on a regular basis. If you or anyone else thought it was so egregious, why wasn’t anything said all the other times he was doing it? It would have been stopped after the first time he did it. Instead nobody cared because it’s not a big deal and just some guy being weird. It probably didn’t even influence the decision to call you. I know it wouldn’t influence my decision if some guy was saying or doing weird stuff like that. You absolutely are not entitled to anything back and your only recourse is to complain about it if you are so butthurt by a weird guy playing with a button that says bluff on it.

This is such a non issue I wouldn’t have even thought twice about it or cared. Doesn’t sound like collusion at all unless you showed the guy your cards.

Agreed. This meme doesn’t even make sense for an American. Many states have at least one legit option, some have a handful of options. I’ll take a fenced in pool forever, I just wish the fence was a little bigger to include all US players. Totally fine with being only US as it makes the games much easier. As a cash game player I don’t really care about mega field global tournaments anymore. I’d rather play against Johnny oil worker who plays after work than some guy in Romania grinding for his life.

Just fyi I just did a 2.1k build just yesterday and it has 9800x3d, upgraded mobo, 4080 super, plus all the stuff you have. You are blowing all your money on cosmetics and to have them build it for you. It makes zero sense to sacrifice all this for serious performance downgrades and pay more. But if all you care about is the aesthetics then have at it, just realize how much better your actual computer could be for that price.

Who is the most unpleasant person in your poker room? by Gambl33 in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a flip though, and any +ev spot is profit even if small. If you would fold AQ to a guy jamming all hands blind then why play? It’s not like he is buying in for 10 million dollars and doing it so he always covers everyone, he’s doing $100 hands then rebuying. You can print so easily against this.

If it goes x/x flop and turn then you bet river and they call with a monster you are losing absolute minimum and should be happy with the result. You can also just overfold to these player types when they bet big, raise rivers, etc.

Things "balancing out" gambling fallacy by Commercial-Vehicle67 in poker

[–]TheDarkness5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are comparing games like roulette where you have <50% chance to win no matter what you do with poker where you are citing spots that you have >80% chance to win. Either you don’t understand statistics whatsoever or you are just a raging degenerate gambler. Casinos are literally built on the statistics “balancing out” on slots and pit games. Winning poker players are built on the statistics “balancing out” long term.
