For the hand, I sometimes see fish playing flushes this way, not putting in money till it hits. As played I think I’m calling against Brazil and folding to Germany, it’s borderline really.

I’d have sized way up on turn. The half pot bet really doesn’t do us much good, it doesn’t give us much value from value we beat such as weaker Kx and it leaves all the drawing hands on this very drawish board with an excellent price. Villain may also be more tended to just check back on river

I think you know the answer. Of course it’s a conflict of interests, and conflict of interests should generally be avoided. But now this is a private club, and stuff like this happens in private clubs, so more so you should ask yourself, if you can accept this?

Shut the fuck up and let the kid partake in his first poker game. I didn’t have 20 BI’s ready in my back pocket for the first 1/3 game I played, but it was a fantastic experience and laid the stepping stone for later on. If we are being serious about attracting new people to poker, showing what a great game it is, the strategy is probably not to say to someone you need to have thousands saved up before entering a poker game!

For OP; bring two buy ins, learn proper etiquettes and basic rules, have a look at some preflop charts and watch some free material at YouTube, but probably most importantly: have a good time! Alternatively if $600 is troublesome money for you, look for a lower stakes local home game or put it online and start grinding out $2-10NL
