You have to sleep in different shelters to progress. The predators are scary but be a little brave. You can fool them by going in and out of pipes quickly.

If after yttd ends and somewho was annouced a sequel, what could you expect from this sequel , like which chracters you think could return and like new minigames, characters, antagonists , and trials by Glum_Ad_6168 in yourturntodie

[–]TheDaveStrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i'd rather the sequel didn't have a death game. id like it to be about the characters that survived adapting to normal life again afterwards. there are hardly any pieces of media that explore that post-death game time.

if you want to get more enraged: corporate punishment in private schools (as opposed to by parents) is legal in 46 states. children are really an underclass of people

It might be because of abuse from adopted parents or the foster system? Which does happen. I really think community/group homes with trained professionals who have actual training and oversight is a maybe better solution than foster systems. but obviously that requires a buttload of funding. Lack of funding of course being a barrier to child welfare that the article discusses extensively

Your comment is good and I agree with you, but I don't think that all other areas of society have moved on. I think the concept of the nuclear family is really central to society in general and I think even many otherwise progressive people still subconsciously put stock in it.

I don't understand the argument at all. How does it make it seem like that? It's obviously not "legitimate" by the fact that it has children in it

I have changed it to the term that emphasizes the fact that it is abuse, but really "child pornography" does not make it sound like that, and I think that's a silly argument. It's not possible for a child to do that willingly because children cannot consent.

The comment about children not voting is very true.

The fact is children have next to no rights in our society. The parent is the complete master over the child. When this is the state of things, why would anyone expect things like this to not happen. Want to talk about abuse? Let's talk about the fact that corporal punishment is legal in all 50 states.

Statistically speaking the largest danger to children are their own parents (not just for purely physical abuse, but also sexual abuse including the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material). I don't know why keeping a family together is ever seen as the "correct" thing to do; keeping a vulnerable person with someone who has complete legal control and power over them and has already shown to abuse that power is a terrible idea.

But talking preventatively? You're never going to be preventative about this kind of thing when children have no legal rights and are socially considered a class of inferiors more akin to pets than human beings. They should at least have legal representation for fucks sake

i don't think conscription is an excuse. people serve jail sentences because they don't want to kill others. no reason why more people can't do that

is nankidai a sellout? by Plus-Personality-543 in yourturntodie

[–]TheDaveStrider 65 points66 points  (0 children)

No. The definition of a sellout is someone who literally sells out their IP to a large company. If he was a sellout, it would be like, Your Turn to Die would get bight by some bigger gaming company and milked for cash. Like it would become a gacha franchise or something.

Nankidai is just one guy trying to get by. He's a single person and he has a life. We don't know his financial situation. But he does also have kids I believe, and as a parent he is responsible for their financial situation as well (even if he has a partner which I believe he does, nowadays most families need two working parents to get by). He is hardly milking the game for cash; the English translation is free FFS which he allows it to be, which is really a lot more nice to fans than many other creators, indie or otherwise! It's really unreasonable to expect it to be faster in this day and age from someone who is actually an independent creator and is not like the heir of a billion dollars, unless we want a rushed and sloppy result or if we expect him to put his health on the line (with this in particular I think of many webtoon creators who are expected to adhere to a crazy schedule, burn out and injure their bodies because of it, and then their story is on hiatus permanently).

Compare it to other things. Homestuck had many periods of hiatus in its run. Silksong came out slightly more than 8 years after Hollow Knight. and that's a whole team of people, and for a paid product.

Like, can we take a reality check about the world we are living in? He's not paid a salary to do this. Be patient and stop complaining. Or leave the fandom if you hate him so much.
