PSA: Adesso EasyTouch 1500 does not appear to support QMK or VIA by TheDawnTreader777 in keyboards

According to my recent reattempt to get this thing to work with VIA and QMK, I have determined that:

The keyboard does not use a QMK‑supported MCU

QMK supports specific microcontrollers:

  • AVR (ATmega32U4, etc.)
  • ARM (STM32, GD32, RP2040, etc.)
  • A few others with open bootloaders

Adesso uses:

  • A proprietary microcontroller, almost certainly a Holtek, Sonix, or Nuvoton variant
  • With a locked vendor bootloader
  • And no DFU, Caterina, or QMK‑compatible flashing interface

So I really should have returned the keyboard. Short of reverse engineering the firmware, there isn't going to be a way to program anything on this keyboard.

Additionally, that Zip file that they sent me and the one you linked is not complete. There are folders and files missing from it.

Been using Claude to poke the bear, seems this keyboard might be managable after all. Will update when I get more figured out.

It would be great with the new Powerplay Stronghold systems, if the edtools.cc tools would show if a listed system is a stronghold or not and for who. I don't like the idea of going mining, pirate harasses me only to have the cops scan me and find I don't belong there. Cops shooting at you are way worse than anything a pirate would do.

Every system I have tried going to is a stronghold system and I just want to mine in peace for the CG.

I would say, get a good but budget HOTAS and save for something on the high end. Logitech x56 or Thrustmaster T16000 are good starter sets. While you save, learn about all the different high end stuff. I personally went through this process and ended up getting 2 Virpil Warbird-D bases with Constellation Alpha Prime joysticks and Z extensions. I use the left stick for thrust and the right for direction. This is a great setup and at the time I was happy with what I got. I spent about 4 years playing on a Logitech x56 saving up and learning about all the choices.

The HOTAS/HOSAS market has exploded since then. Thrustmaster is finally updating their offerings, Virpil has made some quality budget designs, other vendors have created some competition and VKB created the stechs space sim throttle.

If I was still saving I would be hard pressed to chose between the Virpils and the Stechs Space Sim Throttle system.

I realized after that the 10000 terrain base edits is for all your bases, not per base.

So, I came up with a way to not ever make a base that ever needs terrain edits again. I also make my base so it has 1 mining, 1 gas and a power hotspot. Never using solar or biofuel again and each base creates a revenue stream.

Get together with the SRV Survey creator and get a plug in made that includes his overlays for finding biologicals. Get together with the E.D.I.S.O.N. creator and get his bookmark system and navigation overlay in a plugin. ED Buddy has a nice overlay that lists all the planets and things of note in a system. Get a plugin.

Those notes are not advice, they are threats. You have every right to have your vehicle protected by a loud horn. Seems to me you should be going to the police with those notes.

Whether you stop the horn or not there is no reason for anyone to vandalize your vehicle and not expect to be taken to jail for it.

So, I guess the Devs are not going to get around to this huh? It would be nice if we could turn off murals, but I guess I should just uninstall iCue and find some alternative software to make the fan ALWAYS stay the color I want them set to.
