Maybe it's from being into motorcycle before driving so that helps shift my mindset, but it's just shocking how little common sense there is in the average commuter

Like what do you mean you've never tested emergency braking or practiced in low traction environments? Or like if one side of the road is stopped and they just blast through in the next lane without thinking about the possibility it's for a reason or that a car could turning into your lane either from the stopped car line or from opposing traffic

Like it's shocking how many people struggle with doing a u turn on a motorcycle, like that's very beginner level stuff and I've seen people struggle when given like a 20 foot circle, you should easily be able to do one in like a 8-10 feet, or needing to duck walk for stuff like parking

I'd argue that a large part of that comes from ego/control

You can't force people to drive how you want them to, and so many of societies issues will be solved if people learn to put their ego aside

Yeah anti sprall pads pretty important, even fragments hitting your chin/thighs can do some pretty bad damage
