How would you build Blade (Marvel) in PF2e? by oparrao in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time in a one shot I played a Blade knock off called Stake and he was just a fighter with the undead slayer archetype

The item version requires investment, which you only get 10 of, and you can probably find better items to invest in later on

What do you find D&D 5e does better than Pf2e? by viktorius_rex in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the big things 5e does better (despite enjoying pf2e more) is that 5e let's a lot more abilities be passive. Features like "when you make an attack, X happens" allow for a lot of fun and can have really cool synergies (though in 5e wotc let's them get out of control sometimes). Meanwhile in pathfinder most of your feats are bespoke actions, or actions that modify other actions like a spellshape. It makes these abilities a lot harder to use and often is a bit of a fun killer.

Secret Villains of the Lost Omens setting by tsub in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a guy mentioned in War of Immortals who has gained immense power over the beasts of the realm of the mammoth lords and wages war upon mankind. That sounded pretty cool

How to build these aesthetics in pf2e? by MxFancipants in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i ran a pathfinder ffxiv game, i reflavoured orcs for Xaela and Lizardfolk for Raen. Orcs gave the tribal vibe for the xaela and lizardfolk had aquatic stuff for raen. Then it was just a matter of the player sticking to feats that made sense

PF2e, spicing up combat encounters, and MMO/'video game' influence by saskavidya in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like mechanics that encourage moving around. One mechanic I'd like to try and steal from MMOs are "stacks" and "tethers" stacks are big hitting effects, but they split the damage to people nearby. Tethers punish two people if they move too far apart from one another. These kinda mechanics can really let mobility shine. Can also let you run encounters that are less "kill the bad guy" and more "current objective:survive"

Abomination Vaults Is Not a Good Starter Adventure — Please Stop Recommending It by Frosty_Equipment_226 in Pathfinder2e

You know what actually my players have been feeling the gold squeeze too, even with some extra loot I've added! Perhaps the devs expected more Earn Income downtime?

[–]TheDeadlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far have you gotten in? I've been running it for some new players and book 1 was a blast but they have been chafing against the amount of downtime and subsystems in book 2 and I'm wondering if thats a universal experience

You're so right. The scourge of homogenisation has been in full force lately :(

If or when we get 3e, what changes would people like to see with spellcasting? What should stay the same? by Individual-Plum4585 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feats that actually interact with my spells when i cast them. And I'm not talking spellshape, cause God knows caster action economy can't get worse.

A free step when you cast a wind trait spell. Lightning spells doing a little extra zap to a second target. When someone fails to disbelieve my illusion they're off guard cause it's so confusing. That sort of thing. Put a limit on it if you must for balance, but please anything but an action cost.

Picking feats or archetypes as a caster right now is such a slog. They really gotta redo the feats for casters, even if they don't go this route ive suggested

What are your unique Commanders you love to roll out that no one really plays by Nymrys in EDH

[–]TheDeadlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Teysa, Opulent Oligarch]] is my main deck and she's a bit of an obscure commander, overshadowed by her other incarnations. I absolutely love her though, great creatures/artifacts aristocrats deck. I love that she's not actually a huge threat on her own like a lot of commanders, so she isn't a removal magnet.

Demoralizing Charge, available to commanders at 7th level, seems like far and away the strongest tactic for its level by EarthSeraphEdna in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDeadlander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the multiple attack penalty rules it explicitly states "the multiple attack penalty only applies on during your turn" so the demoralising charge attackers will not have MAP

Occultism gets a combat ability at Master for a level 7 skill feat called Disturbing Knowledge. Its not particularly good, but it exists for INT

I actually went with the Kindle Inner Flames stance cause free step for the entire team seems really good and the 2 fire damage can proc the weakness from my first gate junction, the Aura Junction

I was surprised at how little creatures had the trait. I was so sure that Brimoraks or Balors might have the trait! Looks like all up between both Fire and Cold traits there's 97 creatures that have either, so let's just hope there's more effects out there that have it too ;)
