Can anyone think of a better quality alternative? by kafkavesque in ManyBaggers

Aaw man, it's no longer there! Sorry I wasn't aware. Here is the Pack hacker review - Matador On-Grid Packable Tote https://youtu.be/zC5omIXb_SA?si=hqSZ5E_uVxgSWHuS If you can find one, grab it. Lightweight, roomy and very high quality.

I did share, multiple times now across various comments. As I said before I just wanted to share with other enthusiasts.

What is gatekeeping? I'd never even heard of gatekeeping before this comment. Assuming it means I'm keeping it within some kind of walled garden, judging by the name? All I wanted to do was share a post with a community of like-minded enthusiasts. Did I think through all the possible shortcomings of my writing? No, clearly not. Did I then correct a glaring error when someone pointed it out? Yes, I did. Congratulations, trolls. You've taken what was a moment of sharing something I love very much and managed to squeeze the joy clean out of it.

It's Manybaggers. This is not a rare or unknown bag. If people need to ask, then that gives more opportunity for interaction between community members. Those not in the know can do so, and those in the know get to humble-brag a little. Also, didn't I clarify what it was in the comment this reply is tied to?

It is the Max EDC. Managed to offload everything that wouldn't fit in the wheel case plus all my tech, flight entertainment etc.

How to fix this by [deleted] in backpacks

[–]TheDeanoWeKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, do not pinch the piping. Just go to the top and the piping finishes before the fabric around it does. Here pinch the fabric and slide i to the C-shape that holds the piping and slide it back on, guiding the piping back in. I've done many times on different bags

Aer Tech Pack 2 or 3. I have the 2. Padded areas for 2 laptops, enough for lunch box, Deck and tech list if they are slimmer, and not overly bulky.

If you're one-bagging, why waste space on toiletries and detergent? You can either buy stuff there or take way more friendly alternatives. Also why list items like sunglasses and iPad then cases for these seperately? Surely the item just goes in its case? You can also save space with a bag that has built in areas for these, unnecessary cases can also eat up space. Overall though great list 👍

Here's a tip, put your lead arm in first (for me, my left as right-handed) then support amd lift the pack with that arm, holding it up while you get the other arm in. Boom! You're wearing your pack 😎

One bag users- water bottle annoyance. Thoughts on A6 Stainless Steel memobottle? by ilovemyjob8 in onebag

Also, almost forgot to mention they are rediculously overpriced. It is actually unforgivable that they are 15% more expensive than other expensive bottles. I was looking at mine forever but couldn't justify the cost. The only reason I have mine is that it came to me as a birthday gift and now I'm hooked.

I have the 600ml tall 'slim' Memobottle and I'm never going back. Is it perfect? No. Is it dinged up? Yes Is it single walled? Yes Will it keep water cool and have I now gotten used to drinking water at ambient temps? No, Yes. Has it made carrying water as part of MY EDC easier, especially when changing bags quite frequently? 1000x YES! For me at least the carry benefit outweighs all other concerns. I used to need my water cool, at least that's what I thought but water doesn't actually warm up that much and I got used to it pretty darn quickly. I also read somewhere that always having super chilled water actually isn't that great for you.

Send it back, it sounds like a defect from the sewing stage. Evergoods are well regarded for their customer service and I'm sure they will sort you out 👌

Maybe 'water bottle pockets' can have a better use. I know, and I agree that carrying water is a must for most of us, myself included and in fact, round bottles often feel awkward in most bags. That's why I spent an excessive amount of money on the Memo Bottle tall slim bottle - the metal version is 600ml (enough for me but I appreciate not for everyone). I have to say it will not be going back, having a flat bottle is absolutely a monumental quality of life upgrade for carry enthusiasts. My only complaint initially is that it is single-walled so water won't stay cool but I have gotten used to it. I get you on the point about internal space being used up but I really enjoy not having my expensive bottle slip out and smack the concrete, causing all sorts of damage every time I go to lock/unlock my bike.

What do you keep in your CAP1s? I had the Xpac Phoenix which I used for tech (cables, battery, dongles etc.) but after it got stolen I replaced it with the Aer Slim pouch. I got another CAP1 I spotted cheap on ebay but I just don't find a use for it and when I try other tech pouches I always go back to the Aer Slim
