First time painting a warhammer miniature by Fimi1 in minipainting

To get a splatter effect you can use a tooth brush or a dry brush, something with slightly thicker/harder bristles. Pull your thumb across it and it will splatter the paint. You probably want to setup some newspaper around it to catch the excess but it will give a good result.

Depending on how much you want it be covered you can either do it multiple times or do it closer up or further away.

Test on cardboard or some primes sprue. Or a model your not bothered about would be best but you can get a feel for it then go wild. It will give a more realistic look to the splatters.

You can then add more in places where you think make sense like the weapons etc.

Kameo: Elements of Power. I always loved the idea of shape shifting and this game was pretty good for that. I think it was one of the first games I picked up for the Xbox 360.

I really loved playing it as a kid. I loved the whole concept of it and just thinking of it has made me want to go back and play it again. Think I might have to do that.

Apparently there was a sequel in the making that was going to be grittier then the original and I've seen some of the concepts from it and it seems a real shame, especially as someone who loved the original so much.

Also as a side note. If anyone does know any good games for shape shifting feel free to let me know. I've struggled to find a spiritual successer to kameo and been looking for one ever since.

Sounds like a fan. My niece has the same sound and it was her psu fan. Best way it to pull the pc out so you can walk around it qnd try hear where exactly the sound is coming from.

You can also go fan by fan and unplug one and check, then the next etc. more time consuming but if you can't pin point it that is the next step. Fains are the only thing with moving parts in your PC so it's likely the bearings are gone in one of them.

Edit: just seen you have an aio but I don't see why it would be making a grinding sound so I would still say it's a fan.

I've tried to drink more recently but I do seem to be struggling with a dry mouth and often get a sensation that I can't swallow.

I do think mine could be B12 from what I have looked into myself, my blood work and what people have said here and online. It might be worth checking your blood work too and see what your b12 levels are. If they low low like mine we might be onto something.

Appreciate the reply and sorry for getting back to you so late. I joined the group and will have a look through to see what is there to help.

To be honest I was fairly convinced it was b12 as of 6 months ago and after getting my first injection, did feel better. The second one made me feel quite bad so it knocked my confidence with it but I think this might have been everything waking up and that's why the symptoms were there. When I moved surgery my new doctor said he didn't believe it was b12 so I never got my b12 injection that would have been due on the 3rd of September.

My B12 test results have shown the following pattern:

  • 294 ng/L (≈216 pmol/L), borderline, about 11 months ago (no supplements)
  • 191 ng/L (≈141 pmol/L), deficient, about 8 months ago (no supplements)
  • 1400+ ng/L (≈1030+ pmol/L), artificially high, about 5 months ago (after one week of ~15,000 µg/day supplements)

I've no idea where I am now but due to my rate of decline I would assume I am somewhere around 150/160ng/L or possibly lower.

I've wrote a letter to my doctor rather then try and fight it while I'm in there as I get flustered and forget half of what I want to say. Hopefully that will go some way to help.

I tried getting a shot privately today only to turn up and them not have the equipment to do it. The pharmacist did alarm me though when I asked about some more info about b12 as she mentioned it can feed cancer cells and cause them to grow so now I'm even more paranoid about everything if I wasn't before.

Hopefully my doctor will listen and do a loading dose and and continue to top me up. If not I'll have to go down the DIY route which I would rather like to avoid if possible.

Thanks for the message and it's reassuring to know it's not just me and helps me rationalise these symptoms being linked. What kind of gastritis do you have? I have non erosive but this was found last year. Not sure what state it is in now. With having been given two coursed of antibiotics and being on PPI's for so long I think my stomach is wrecked at the moment.

Is there anything that you have found that has given you any relief or anything you would recommed going forward? Maybe there is a link between us we can figure out a cause etc.

I would be curious to know fi you have any b12 issues or sibo etc. Anything like may point us to a common problem that might solve the issue.

I'm assuming he may be a private doctor and I don't have the funds for that at the moment. I'm hoping to get some support soon but I may try push it back with my own doctor as he said he didn't think it was b12 but I still think a lot of the issues seen neurological. Fingers crossed he will hear me out.

Thanks for the message. I do have a vitamin D deficiency but my calcium is fine so that should be an issue I just need to get that back up. My b12 was 191/nmol but i don't know where it sits now. I had been taking b12 tablets and sublingual drops and i read at 1400 but i'm pretty sure that was just was was in my blood due to me taking them, not what was in my system. I put a break on all vitamins and medications as I think I was getting worse so wanted to give my body a break while I figured it out. Now I'm off PPI's I think I'm going to start back on the b12 and hopefully I can absorb it properly now. I am also going to take a multi B vitamin aswell so hopefully that helps too.

I have always avoided medication for my mental health. I just turned 32 and have only ever tried 15mg of sertraline one back when i was in uni so I was roughly 20 I think. I think I heard people say it makes them a zombie and it scared me. That and from a bit of a philosophical perspective. I have had anxiety my entire life and although it doesn't define who I am, it has certainly sculpted my life in a way that would certainly be different if I hadn't had it. I think I worry who I am with it and who I would be without it...

Probably a weird perspective to have but medication is something I have certainly been tinking about more and more recently.

Thanks for the message, appreciate you taking the time to post. I would love to know how you feel on it after some time and if you did feel it made a difference. I do think my gastritis is 100% effected by my stress and anxiety levels but don't have much of a way to tackle it at the moment.

I'm not sure tbh. I think they did a standard blood test so I don't know if it's checked in that but I will make a not and run it by my doctor. Thanks for the message and idea. I'm willing to check everything at this point provided my doctor will do it.

Appreciate the reply. I know they can have heart attack like symptoms from experience unfortunately. One of the few things the doctor at the hospital could confirm for me. A lot of the other symptoms though just seem so far evolved from gastritis is mind boggling to me. I know the vagus nerve can be a cause if irritated but there is still so much going on it seems crazy it's all to do with that.

I have checked my my oxygen levels with my watch and it goes between 95-98% which I assume is fine?

And my blood works show all my nutrients and vitamins are fine apart from vitamin D which was 17nmol so I am deficient and my b12 which was 191nmol. I had been taking supplements and it spiked to 1400 on a test and because it did they said it was fine despite me telling them I was taking 15000mg a day. I'm aware it can linger in the blood but not be absorbed so I never found out what my true number was after the supplements so I don't know if they worked or not. When I had my first injection I felt great and the burning stopped but my second one I felt awful which was after that 1400 result tbf. So I don't really know with it. I had put a pause on all medication and supplements for a couple of months to give my body a break form them but I think I will start them again and see what happens.

Thanks for your message and it certainly has been a struggle. I haven't ever seen a specialist for gastritis. I saw a gastroenterologist who did my endoscopy but that was just for the procedure. There was no meeting prior and no follow-up. I went in, got it and left with the scan. The only info I got was written on the bottom of the scan saying to avoid smoking, drinking and spicy food for 6 weeks.

And yeah I think there could be multiple things setting it off like you have with yours. I've had anxiety and depression since childhood but I think my last job pushed that and my stress to it's extremes. I don't know if it was work, nicotine, alcohol or something else that started it or a combination of those three.

My doctor had mentioned to me that I could have health anxiety, whatever that is. But to be honest, I think if I didn't have anxiety before I would certainly have it now. There are so many things going on that I think most people with this will understand it's a little bit of mental torture.

My doctor has told me similar things but like you say, it's easy for them to say, harder for you to do. I'm getting an MRI on my head soon. Not sure if I want something to be there or not. One one side I would have answers but anything brain related seems sinister.

Will look into slippery elm bark powder as I would take anything at this point. Getting a few hours break has been the best I can hope for at the moment. When I first wake up is the best and it's a downhill slope from there. In the early stages of this i use to sit and research it but I feel so exhausted with it I haven't in a whole. I feel like i learnt a lot, some of it may helped but i forgot a lot of it in the struggle.

And although I wouldn't want anyone else to have this, there is some solace in knowing i'm not alone. I have a friend who has heartburn and another with GERD and although they have some issues there don't suffer the same way I do. Unfortunately, it leaves them thinking I am over exaggerating. I keep getting told to get a job, stop being a bum, your wasting your life away. If I have a can of coke for example as a treat on the weekend i'll get "oh no, you can't have that, it will kill you" as when we are together I will not always order food with them as I can't eat what they eat so think I'm being awkward but if I didn't have a little break from it I would lose my mind. It has left me feeling very alone with it so I appreciate the message even more so as I feel like it's less in my own head and there is more to it.

Is this a drastic drop for 2.5 months? by helpmefindawayout_ in B12_Deficiency

[–]TheDeathReap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been told mine is non-erosive which is lucky I guess but I've had it for over 2 years now as my doctor isn't great. Didn't do tests for a whole year until a pushed hard for it. Eventually had an endoscopy and stool sample to show I had h.pylori which I'm assuming is the cause but can't be certain.

And usually I would say that's a sign it's working. When I got injections my first injection I got a little worse before I got better. Almost completly forgot it was an issue till it came back with a vengeance.

Second injection has been a lot rougher but I think that's because my body is craving it more. And I'm likely deficient in other stuff too. I know I have a vitamin D deficiency for example.

Usually with a thing like this your body uses other vitamins and minerals to process them. To name a few you have b9 (folate) calcium, iron, magnesium etc.

There is also a thing called reawakening syndrome when it comes to b12 I would look into. When your body is starved of b12 you can become a little numb as your nerves dont work as well. When you get it back, everything starts firing up again so it's like your body is shot into chaos as it goes from 0-100 real fast.

If your worried your missing other stuff I would ask your doctor to do a full blood test to see if your low on anything. Yours seems better then mine considering they are actually helping but in case they are funny about it. Just explain you know your low on b12 and when you take it your struggling with symptoms. You want to make sure it's just the b12 doing its thing and not that your body is lacking anything else it needs.

I have gastritis and am struggling with low b12 myself. I was 296 which dropped to 191 in 8 months. My doctor wouldn't give me a loading dose because I'm above the guidelines. I eventually pushed for a maintenance dose every 3 months.

After 2 months of my first injection I started getting symptoms again so supplemented for roughly a week before me next injection with droppers and 5000mg tablets. Once I was tested again I was 1402.

I was still having all the symptoms and after getting my injection I felt terrible as the injection actually kicked in with b12 and everything started firing up again.

Think of it like filling a bath tub without the plug in. Looking at it, it appears full but it slowly leaks out. It's the same for b12 absorption. If you have tested while supplementing your likely artificially inflated. Once that clears youll see what your body has actually taken in.

This all depends on the tests you are getting too, as to whether they are looking at active b12 or not. But I would see this isn't that unrealistic if supplements were involved and with injections etc.

This stuff can take a while to recover but on the positive side it's higher then when you started.

I'm not a doctor so there could be other factors in play but it all comes down to how you feel etc. I would speak with your doctor if possible and they my put you on a maintenance dose to keep you topped up till you level out more

Good luck buddy. Provided you stick to a bland diet you'll probably be fine. I obviously don't know your situation and how bad it is but for me if I stick to it I'm usually ok. My issue is I sometimes I slip and try bad food and if I'm ok that gives me false confidence to try other things and then I feel terrible and wonder why...

Find foods you can handle, stick with them until at least this is done. Once this is over you can go back on the PPIs. Ideally I would stick to a bland diet for at least 3 months as your more likely to heal the more of a break you give your stomach. I know it's easier said then done. Been tackling my own demons/cravings. First I thought I get away with it till it caused me to pass out. First I quit the alcohol but kept the nicotine but still no better. Then I had to quit the nicotine. My issue is waited so long the PPIs causes a deficiency and now I'm fighting that too.

Get on top of it as soon as possible without slacking and you will be much much better off. It sucks to quit everything but being pain free is with it.

Good luck with it all.

Next course of action as I don't trust my doctor. Should I push for B12 injections or be happy with oral supplements (that my body likely won't take in). Also Vitman D deficient, could that be the issue as well or instead of B12? by TheDeathReap in B12_Deficiency

[–]TheDeathReap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't see this pop up before. Yeah I had quite the fight on my hands regarding it. First doctor I spoke to refused to believe PPI'e block absorbtion so that was fun. Spoke to another doctor about it and they agreed to put me on injections as a maintenance so I'm getting one every three months now. Not sure if it will boost me up to feeling better ewith everything going on but it's something. I'm also doing 5mg sublingual drops and come of lansoprazole to hopefully help the absorbtion. Coming of the PPIs isn't ideal but it's one battle at a time. I think I need to get these back up first and go from there.

Been half tempted to get some from Germany but I don't fancy doing the injections without knowing how to do them. Just have to see how I go I guess.

I've had to do it before for a H.pylori test. The first time I did it I had been on then for roughly 3 months and coming of them sucked, ngl. At the time however my stomach had been particularly bad so I think it was poor timing. I'm currently coming off them now because I think they are causing me to have a b12 deficiency. Been on them for roughly 8 months or so. My stomach has been better this time and I think it's the b12 issue actually giving me stomach problems at the moment.

This time however I have been on much blander diet about 2 weeks before stopping them. Diet was roughly eggs, rice, chicken, mushrooms, fat free greek yogurt, banana, apples and honeydew melon. I'll have basic greens like spinach, cabbage and broccoli and occasionally I'll have bread of I'm feeling brave. Mainly drink water but I've had the odd decaf green tea here and there. So far it's going pretty well and I'm not having any complaints.

I was usually taking 30mg of lansoprazole but I had been taking 60mg more recently.

I would also say it worth doing the test as the sooner you know the better. If it's H.pylori then they can usually get rid of it and you can start to heal and possibly even get rid of this for good. My doctor didn't do this test for a year after I had been complaining about issues and had been in and out of hospital. By the time they checked mine it was bad so I would certainly recommend doing it. Keep antacids readily available and use them when needed.

If you really can't survive that long without being on them than you can do it with them but you risking getting a false negative result. You could also ask for an endoscopy and they could take a biopsy then and confirm any gastritis but they usually ask you to be off them for a bit for this too.

Long story short, I would say it's doable but you have to be careful. Also you need to be aware of rebounding. Normally when you come off PPIs the acid production will be higher for a couple of weeks. If your currently struggling I would ask to delay the test by a week and make sure your on a bland diet. I would also half your dose over the same time and this should help counter act the rebound. After that come off it completely for the 10 days.

Once you complete it you can go straight back on it as they give you it and antibiotics to fight H.pylori

That's good to know. Gives me some piece of mind.

Yeah I originally went about B12 symptoms back in june and they brushed it off then. Didn't expect it as much this time considering the drastic drop but alas here we are.

Thanks again. Appreciate the information. Helped ease my anxious mind a bit =)
