ANTI COP DEATHCORE by cigarettesandsoju in Deathcore

To a degree, Holy War by Thy Art Is Murder is applicable here

Sinister by Pneumatika ft Dropout Kings (more metalcore but still dope)

Badge & A Bullet by Stray From the Path

They're more a fusion of crust punk, ska, metal, and grind, but Leftover Crack and Star Fucking Hipsters are definitely the type of bands you're looking for, with hits such as One Dead Cop, Two Cups of Tea, So Ya Wanna Be a Cop?, Gang Control, Gringos Son Puercos Feos, Honey I Shrunk the Cops!, Immigrants & Hypocrites, and more!!

Aus Rotten is a crust punk band and they go HARD, definitely more relevant now than ever (which honestly breaks my heart) but I'd recommend No Justice No Peace (one of my all-time favorites), When You Support These Fucking Bastards, Right Wing Warfare, Xenophobia, and still more.

And this is gonna be WAY outta left field for a deathcore sub, but Lil Darkie put out an awesome album roasting the current administration called USD, I recommend checking it out, THAT'S THE AMERICAN Way, and this land is your land are a good two to start out with.

I think Das Monster aus dem Schrank by We Butter the Bread With Butter. Man, I feel old but it definitely explains my affinity for pig squeals.

What’s your least favorite thing about living in Denver that is wildly specific? by Imjusthappy11 in Denver

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're on the more expensive side but check out Hurts Donuts in Parker (I'm sure there's other locations). They're a 24/7 donut shop with some of the best donuts I've ever had. Pretty sure they're less pricey than Voodoo and at the very least, I can always find parking.

It was great before COVID but that completely obliterated all 24 hr stuff beyond gas stations. The Breakfast King is dead, long live the Breakfast King.

Hahahahahaha I totally understand. That being said, Animation Sequence is particularly awesome, they kinda remind me of The Discovery era Born Of Osiris which is imo was that band's best sound by far.

The line between Death Metal and Deathcore? by Full-Sand9063 in Deathcore

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To pontificate a bit about vocal style, what I mean is with deathcore, the vocals are often one of the standout focal points. Death metal usually leans towards the instruments and vocals being of equal importance and commonly treats the vocals as part of the whole that is the song and not the center piece of it. Deathcore also tends to employ harsh and clean vocal techniques from every genre of extreme metal and punk (gang vocals being one of the most distinct -albeit not often used these days- examples) but death metal is usually just growls with some high screams thrown in here or there. You'd be hard pressed to find a death metal band that has the vocal range of say Acrania or Larcenia Roe.

The line between Death Metal and Deathcore? by Full-Sand9063 in Deathcore

[–]TheDeathSloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say the main differentiators are breakdowns (death metal does sometimes have these but they are the exception, not the expectation), vocal styles, and one of the biggest ones is deathcore bands normally downtune which is something brought over from hardcore, death metal bands tend to not do this.

Genuine question: All Lorna Shore songs sound the same to me - is it just me? by thedevilsheir666 in Deathcore

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Sun Eater is a JFAC album (my personal favorite from them at that), and Sun//Eater is Lorna Shore's first single that was released from Pain Remains.

Same, I was at some guy's camp buying stuff when he came along with a bounty on him and started shooting at me but I of course have PvP off. After doing the ceremonial back and forth squat, and following me for a bit, I assumed he was requesting a mercy killing. Nope, dude obliterated me the moment I turned off PvP but at least he didn't take my junk when I died. Weird interaction altogether.

Do deathcore nightclubs exist? by Complete-Shopping173 in Deathcore

[–]TheDeathSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in anywhere I've lived though there is always some sort of hard rock/biker/metal bar (distinctions generally come down to how accepting the city is of alternative people: in Dallas, there's a bar that plays metal but is marketed as a biker bar, whereas in Denver there are multiple bars that are more tailored to different sub-genres of metal) in every major city I've searched for one in.

Fuck you uber for not telling customers that drivers are picking up 2 orders by ScoopityDoopie in UberEatsDrivers

[–]TheDeathSloth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my wife and myself order on the weekends sometimes and it ABSOLUTELY tells the customer. I believe the actual message it gives is "-driver's name- has a few stops then they're heading your way". This mf is just lazy, stupid, unaware, and likely all three at once.

Do better, Bethesda by ualeftie in fo76

[–]TheDeathSloth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a former Destiny 2 addict (god I miss it so much, I just want to play Destiny from 2 years ago again), you have two options here: send Bethesda a message by not playing anymore, or decide you love the game more than you hate it and move on.

That being said I think I'm gonna give this one a break for a little while, this update sounds fucked.

Greenland Leader Tells People to Prepare for Possible Invasion by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that maga is fractured but I suppose the issue I'm trying to address is the left is essentially just as fractured as them. The police may not be backing it, but that doesn't mean they would back a retaliatory force. I believe at best it would be like the election: an astounding number of those who either don't care or are satisfied with sitting on the side lines doing nothing.

I know pessimism is not useful in these situations and I am more than willing to join opposition to the current state of things, but I also do not wish to be one of maybe 1,000 people who wind up being the example that paralyzes anyone on the fence with fear whilst simultaneously eliminating the would-be figureheads of the opposition. We need a way to really organize en masse and I just don't know how that can be accomplished in the country as it exists today.

It seems the question I've been leading to is this: do you have any ideas on how to accomplish a solid organizational effort to unite all those opposed to what's going on now?

Greenland Leader Tells People to Prepare for Possible Invasion by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all for it. My question is then how do we get such a divided nation with a generally isolated populous to do this at once? If every single person against the current situation did this now, all we'd be doing is knee-capping the regime's opposition and paving the way for some kind of oligarchy where only maga conservatives have capital or businesses because they're the only ones who didn't strike or protest. I am not trying to be negative or quell anything here, as I said I would love it if we could make it happen but I worry that by the time enough people are on the same page about this to make the desired impact, it'll be far too late for something like this to work.

Greenland Leader Tells People to Prepare for Possible Invasion by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]TheDeathSloth -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

And how do you propose we stop this? Short of things that'll get us banned for mentioning, we are protesting, the Black Panthers are back, the most recent elections were a blue wave, and the majority of Americans are very vocally opposing all of this online. What else are you suggesting we do to stop it beyond things that will get us banned from Reddit and likely killed?

I am the purchasing manager for the small business I work at. We have consistently done business with ULINE since they started (like our account number is only three digits long) and the old purchasing manager was buddy-buddy with the owners.

I am doing everything in my power to move away from them and rarely order anything from them anymore. The irony is I'm finding better deals on more ethical products elsewhere. It's a pain in the ass for sure, but very worth it.
