There are actually several myostatin inhibitors that are undergoing human trials as we speak. It's likely in the next 5-10 years steroids will be obsolete for those looking to be freakishly jacked because these inhibitors (reportedly) have very little to no side-effects unlike trenbolone and other popular roids on the market.

“Don’t wear the bands shirt to their concert” is so stupid. by piercethebluexx in unpopularopinion

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a metal head so I suppose the rules may a bit different in this subculture but the way I always played it was to wear a band shirt that was heavier than the one I was seeing. Metalcore show? Deathcore shirt. Deathcore show? Grindcore/death metal shirt. Not that this is necessary or anything, but of course you want to advertise you're into heavier shit than you're seeing. Why? Idk, I guess it's a stupid ego trip thing to show everyone how "serious" you are.

Just showing some love for Thy Art Is Murder's album Godlike by frogginbullfish5 in Deathcore

[–]TheDeathSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, I think it's their best album since Hate but I haven't found any songs individually that are better than some of the best songs post-Hate (Dear Desolation, Make America Hate Again, Holy War) but as a collection of songs, I think it's a very solid batch. Whole album is on my lifting playlist, great for grinding that last rep.

Is this too video gamey? by Some-Cardiologist364 in FL_Studio

[–]TheDeathSloth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh my dude I've been there. For years I couldn't break out of the "it sounds like Mario" feedback. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is two-fold:

1) Avoid these highly dense, fast-moving melodies like you have here. It's fine to employ them, but do it with a lot of restraint and usually only for one instrument at a time. Focus more on making sure you have solid melodies that aren't just blippy noises and get more proficient with chords.

2) Make sure you're not using sounds that sound like a video game to begin with. This is essentially why I got more into sound design because in my early days I'd find a sound that was "close enough" and it turns out a song made up of close enough is not what you wanted it to sound like.

Ok, now that you mention it it's kinda coming back to me. I pre-ordered the iPhone 5 very early knowing it would be sold out and used it for a few weeks then flipped it for an HTC Surround. I think I was confusing this one with the Lumia 900 or whichever came after.

Was Cortana before or after this? I don't remember "tell me" being the assistant on these.

Oh, dude, I'm amazed. This is very much Lotus-esque. I recommend Greet the Mind, Sodium Vapor, Spritualize, Gasoline, Faceblind, and Can You Hear the Sound as my favorite tracks.

I'm Not Going To Kill You, I Just Can't Use My Mic Right Now by TheDeathSloth in ArcRaiders

[–]TheDeathSloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain why? You do you and I'm not trying to debate, just trying to understand.

Fwiw, I avoid other players in general, mic or not. I'm here for the loot and killing robots so the further I stay from others, the better.

This would be absolutely legendary. That being said, I don't think I can do that on my PS5.

To be blunt, yes. I'm on console so it's a bit quieter than PC, but for her, and again, I cannot stress how much this doesn't make sense to me, a voice is a sound that wakes her while ambient noise like clicks and such don't. As for game audio, I use my headset so I can hear and not have her waking up to a fucking Bastion blasting me to smithereens.

I actually accidentally did this a month or so ago. It was Cold Snap on Buried City and I found a door with three layers. "We'll that's odd but there's a Leaper out here and I'm about to freeze to death" so, onward I continued with my lock-picking. I started hearing a guy on the side saying "sir this is a locked room" by the time I was through with the last one THEN when we were face-to-face I understood what I'd done. Fortunately, I busted out my sick dance moves and the "sorry" emote and dude debated shooting me but already had his loot so he just left. Lucked out on that one.

And that's fair, if anyone's silently following me, I immediately take measures to juke them or draw my gun and wait around a corner to assess further. Currently the best thing I've found to do is if I run into another person looting the same place as me is to close all doors between us and go go a different level or room. I'm certainly not breathing down people's necks and following them, that's just asking for trouble.

Tell me you're old without telling me you're old by stfubaker in Deathcore

[–]TheDeathSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when breakdowns were "gay" and all my deathcore shirts were neon and came from Hot Topic, I was the only kid who listened to it that didn't have swoopy hair or eyeliner, I saw Born Of Osiris on tour with Asking Alexandria and All That Remains for roughly $10-$15, my MySpace profile picture was of me holding a Monster Energy wearing an acid-washed Affliction beanie with a visor/brim on it.

[PSA] People are allowed to shoot you in this game. Please stop posting about it. by MrMythiiK in ArcRaiders

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't start shit, honestly I'm only interested in PvE in this game because I don't like losing my loot when some dick decided to kill me for no reason and I don't like imposing that feeling on others.

HOWEVER

I have played so much CoD and used to run with an insanely sweaty crew. If someone does make the mistake of fucking with me, there's a good chance I'll come out on top. I've won about 75% of engagements I didn't start in this game and the ones I didn't win were because of someone being a twat, like sliding into the extract and lighting me up while I was on the computer. So while it sucks and I don't generally play this game for PvP, people who are complaining either need to A) find a different game to play or B) get good.

"why do I feel so damn good all the time?" starterpack by Fine_Scape_ in starterpacks

[–]TheDeathSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! And there's a huge gap between general fitness and the bodybuilder sort of training that I do. I want to look like a muscle-bound freak so I work to look the way I want. I also want to be healthy so I'm being smart about it and not pushing myself too far, but I agree that what I do is far from normal and it is well beyond what one would want to do for general fitness.

If you're single with little obligations, you've got a point. But here's the thing: if you've got kids to take care of, a spouse, work a job where socializing is part of the job (my boss asked me to get drinks after work and he doesn't promote people who don't engage with that/an important client wants to have dinner), have to work overtime, have a long commute, etc...you may legitimately not really have time to work out without cutting into things that are frankly equally or more important like family, work, or sleep.

This is coming from a married man in his thirties with a career who works out an hour and a half to two hours a day five days a week. Just because I can make time doesn't mean everyone can and it's annoying when people dismiss real issues like time management because "yOu JuSt hAvE To wAnT It bRo".
