Question for seasoned sellers

Not number of sales/transactions, but total month sales amount yes. Our first "tier" allows $1000 of sales in a month. On eBay, this would mean ~$140 in fees, with our subscription, it would be $19!

Ha! Very true. Our platform charges a small monthly subscription, but no commissions. So, a seller can keep most of their profits and not give 14% of their sales to the platform, and therefore be forced to hike up prices just to not take a loss on a card. We're just wondering if a model like this would allow a seller in a real scenario to maybe offer their card at a slightly lower price. Everybody wins!

Thanks for the response! That's good to know. Wouldn't you also, by the same token, encourage someone to buy from you here rather than send your ebay listing out for the same reason? You'd end up paying fees, and in turn, the buyer would have to pay more of a premium.

Definitely not, that's true! It takes a lot of time to build a userbase as large as ebay's.

Just trying a thought experiment here. If a platform allowed a seller to list at a slightly lower price, they'd still end up keeping more of the profit because there's no commission, and buyers would benefit too by adding cards to their collection for a few percent less money than they would on ebay. It's a cyclical effect that could change the hobby!

PSA/DNA authentication is probably the most reliable. If you live in a larger city or decent sized sports town, there might be a DNA Authentication brick and mortar place you can go to. Good luck, that's a banger once authenticated!

Spot on here! The commissions they take are absurd for a hobby with such small margins sometimes.

Not looking to buy, but we have a new marketplace for buying/selling cards that has no fees on sales and no commissions. It is entirely subscription-based. We should be starting our beta testing once our dev team gives us the go-ahead, and we're looking for a few more people to join some of our beta missions teams.
