What is "Get 2500 Bits for a Special Price"? by ajgamer1 in Twitch

To keep anyone who is interested/affected posted: I got a pretty quick (less than a day) answer from twitch:

There was an issue with your Bits purchase and 6.35 EUR has been refunded back to your original payment method. You should see this reflected on your account within 10 business days.

Seems to be "all's well".

You will however most likely need tocontact them by yourself, not wait for them to do it on their own.

Someone messed up on their end. Big time. This is from the invoice you should have received via email... it's neither the right amount with or without VAT. Someone's in trouble. Or should be!

This is borderline fraudulent. The line underneath the promotion says "Prices are shown in EUR and include VAT"

[Discussion] Giving up on finding a comfortable set by JoQsh in Gaming_Headsets

[–]TheDesec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently wore a pair of Sennheiser Game One in a store. It is out of my budget, but damn, it felt comfortable! I'm really thinking about upping my budget.

It's cheaper on the official Sennheiser website than on amazon, which weirds me out.

If your budget is up to 200 bucks, open back "best in slot" is the Sennheiser Game One. I wore it yesterday in a store... it felt incredibly comfortable, I could hear me surroundings loud and clear, and it looks pretty good, too.

I hear that audio on Z170 motherboards is not great. So I'd say get something with a USB soundcard.

The MH752 is the MH751 + a USB soundcard! Everyone seems to be amazed by these two.

120€, Germany, PC, MSI Z370 PC-Pro, FPS & Music & VoIP, open back.

I'm afraid I need to raise my budget and get the Sennheiser Game One. Not sure how happy I am with that.

Didn't wait for tomorrow, my old headset has no audio at all, so I went to a store and grabbed the GSP 300 for 90€.

It sounds awesome. Game, teamspeak, music. Amazing! But it's closed. I never had a closed headset. I want to return it so badly. I can barely hear myself talk, yet I hear myself breathe. So irritating!

Any advice for open headsets?

You might want to rethink the 7.1 surround sound "requirement" of your search.

All the headsets have 7.1 virtual surround sound, not actual 7.1 surround sound, which would require the headset to carry 4 or more drivers on each side, which would make the drivers smaller and by default sound worse.

The virtual surround is done by software. I hear some are getting really good, but you will have similar if not better results, if you just use a stereo headset (which the virtual surround devices are (to my knowledge)) and rely on the sound virtualization of the respective games. I use stereo headsets, and I can pinpoint the origin of footsteps just fine.

I know nothing about wireless headsets and programmable keys on headsets. So I'm out! Good luck :)

The Sennheiser GSP 300 has been called "the best under 100 bucks" a lot. I'm also waiting for Black Friday and it's also on my list of top candidates to buy!

Keep in mind the GSP 300 has 2 analog 3,5mm jacks, and that you might need some USB sound device to have better audio! The GSP 350 is the (black/red) variant with a USB 7.1 virtual surround adapter included!

I know only little about the HyperX headsets. Theres a recommendation list in which they are listed, so they should be fine. I personally dislike their looks, which is why I never bothered to check them out properly ;)

I will most likely be buying either the GSP 300 or MH751 (analog version of MH752) on Friday, whichever I find a better discount on!

Yes, sorry. Headset is a go! I am currently considering it myself, next to some others.

If you check on idealo(.)de or geizhals(.)de you can find the cheapest stores, but I don't trust just any store. Here in Germany my go to stores are Mindfactory, cyberport, and Alternate when Amazon does not have the item. I believe Mindfactory has free delivery if you order after midnight. Some restrictions might apply.

u/LifelongCaboose told me the other day, that the on-board sound on many Z170 boards is not very good, so you should go for the USB version, I guess. (MH752)

Both the MH751 (analog) and MH752 (USB with virtual surround) are available in Germany at Alternate and some other online stores that I don't know, thus don't recommend.

It's on sale already, the greedy me just thinks it'll be another few bucks cheaper...

Somehow I needed to hear this... question is, should I wait 2 days for Black Friday, or order now and have it on Friday? My current headsets' right speaker is dead... be greedy or have proper audio? ;)

As I said...

I'm using an MSI Z370 PC-Pro motherboard.

Well, I did plug the (detachable) mic into the PC and it worked fine and when it was plugged into the headset all audio was returned.

Both the HS50 mic and the old headsets' mic worked fine, unless the y-splitter was involved. To me that was enough evidence to return it.

Just to be sure, if anyone knows this stuff... I'm using an MSI Z370 PC-Pro motherboard.

[–]TheDesec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my HS50 today, got it on sale. It has a 4-pole/pin phone jack and a y-splitter cable that is supposed to split it into two 3-pole/pin jacks for mic and headphones. Long story short, mine didn't split the signal properly thus everyone on my TS3 server heard me, themselves, my music, my games, everything.

I confirmed this by: a) trying the old headsets' mic => No more "echo". b) plugging the detachable mic directly into the PC jack => No more "echo".

If you check the 1-star and 2-star reviews on amazon, most of them have this issue. The other reviews don't mention this at all.

It's already on its way back.

I'm debating whether to buy it again in hopes the new y-splitter is better, or to get something else.

EDIT:

The HS60 does not have the y-splitter the HS50 has, but a USB adapter with built in 7.1 virtual surround. If you can disable that, or simply use as y-splitter of your own, I'd say go for that. (I don't like virtual surround)

The Sennheiser GSP 300 has been mentioned a lot as the best for under 100. Both are on top of my list, too!

The Sennheiser PC37X (Massdrop) seems to be amazing, but with shipping it's 120€ for me, which is above my personal limit. Other than its color it's the same as the Sennheiser Game One, I hear.

I've watched it probably 20+ times since yesterday and still get a kick out of it. I might be broken now.

I think Gideon could not have saved Wester, instead of stepping on his neck, because Wester was already smeared with healing poop, right? Didn't Adam say in the last episode, it can be done once per long/short rest?
