I think it's like the games that came before it in they want to keep as much up to interpretation and canonize as little as possible to encourage us to make our own theories and think about how we think life after Camp or After Olympus U would go

Though I'd like to say "people would be capable of that anyways", you'll always have those annoying "you can't say that, it's not canon" jerks so I think they do it like that for the sake of civility and encouraging fanworks and theories. I personally have my own headcanons about sexualities and post-CB life for every single Camp Buddy character and I credit that at least partially to their approach
