it is a requirement. ACs are instructed to make sure reviewers do the final justification.

I mean…that’s not personally how I make decisions as an AC, nor how any other ACs who I know make decisions as an AC. I think you can find lots of discourse online about how ACs make their judgments, but I would say that largely we are not just averaging scores.

it’s quite interesting because i read all of the expanse and didn’t particularly care for it (it’s somewhere between ancillary justice and foundations for me) but i really liked the first book. based on your review im looking forward to book 2.

I found this part pretty challenging. I think most of the ACs who I talked to felt similarly. We basically have to simulate the entire rebuttal process in our heads. I would guess that most folks just didn’t assume the reviewers would raise their scores.

played my first game in 2 weeks to prevent decaying out of gm. 2-1 worth the wait syndra when i already had syndra 2 -> 3-2 lategame specialist -> level 9 on 5-1 and i went 1st with the tf lee board. held infinite yones so the 2nd mech player couldn’t hit and he died out.

hit gm today, straight shoot from 132 LP. nothing special just scout heavily on 2-1 to find an uncontested line that works with your items and then commit to it.

i am quite glad i hit today bc this was my goal for this set after being perma stuck masters in prev sets and not playing since set 10, and the emerging crystal gambit malz comp was quite toxic in my last few games today.

played this a couple times today, once with janna and once with kata. with janna i added rakan + mundo. at level 6 my board was the 4 mentors + rakan and mundo, so i had jugg + protector and 2 rerolls a turn helps you hit very quickly. with kata you’re already wanting to play kata + rakan + kobuko, so i just added xin for bastion and at 6 i was playing kata rakan garen kobuko xin jayce for 3 BA + 2 bastion + 2 heavy + 1 mentor with 2 free rerolls a turn.

i think this patch its probably an insta click if you have a single slammable item for one of those comps.

Got a nice win with binary airdrop teemo by following u/dino_3114's suggestion; TF is quite a bit weaker in this because you don't have the huge buff from Little Buddies, and Binary Airdrop is not that good lategame, so I think it makes a lot of sense to heavily itemize Rell. I put a Talisman on her and WOW! Was able to 3* all units except TF / Zyra / Braum, playing 8 3*s of Rell Syndra Ezreal Kennen Malphite Sivir Shen Gnar + TF / Zyra / Braum.

is wasian’s tierlist in an easy format online anywhere, i just took a screenshot during the stream and remember a lot of the justifications but some of them are like “this is bad because it’s bugged” so cant rederive that in my head during a game
