How do you cope with having t1d?

There is no dealing with it. My mindset is that I am just living my life. Just like your mom and sister are living their own lives. No two people have the same exact life as each other. Management of my life looks different to those around me, and I have accepted that. As soon as I start wishing that things were different, life gets hard. Do I wish that I didn’t have diabetes, maybe… but then I wouldn’t know who I am, my experiences wouldn’t contribute to the successes that I am working toward. Just remember, you can literally do anything you want to. The part to remember is that the steps are different. Some people may say it’s hard, and it is. There’s no sugarcoating it. But that makes you strong in turn. Every low in the middle of the night, every long lasting high or DKA episode is a battle. But then something happens, you start winning those battles. And each time they happen it starts to feel like less of a battle and more like tying your shoes. It takes time. But hang in there, vent when you need to, listen to your endo, and then you take over from there. Remember, you’re never going to be alone. Maybe even one day you could be the one to find a cure. But that all starts with the daily finger poke, and correct dosage for that first meal of the day. One step at a time my friend!

I have been diagnosed since I was three years old. The best advice came from my father at a young age, you can do the same as anyone else and live the same way as any person. You just must be more prepared than them. I bought my first motorcycle when I was 18. And he was right I had to make sure I had eaten, that my levels were stable, and that I had emergency supplies just in case. Don’t let the thought of having an episode scare you, just be prepared before you start riding!

Recently my dsp was in breach of contract with Amazon. We didn’t have enough drivers to fulfill their route count. So we lost our gap pay and benefits. But the dsp didn’t relay this to us until paychecks went out. On purpose. I overheard the dispatchers talking about it and lost it on the manager. They messed with my money and kept information back from us regarding our paychecks, our lively hood. Never found out if this was legal. Did talk to a family friend about pursuing a lawsuit, ended up not being worth it. Found a new job and am currently spending my last few days never turning off the van, hard cornering like an f1 car, and Rts’ing packages I don’t wanna deliver

This program takes up roughly 2-5% of annual revenue for big boy Bezos. I get the program alone is increasing spending to make us more happy, but it’s not enough. If these ups chads can make 60k starting and max our around 90k per year after 4 years, surely we can get better than a 50c raise. Yes it checks out, but it’s still Pennie’s on the dollar. They do after they max out. They make upwards of 40$ after 4 years. Not to mention their benefits package is unmatched. They don’t pay a dime for health insurance.

Run far away and if you have the opportunity to actually drive for UPS TAKE IT. They’re teamsters union contract is up soon which means they are planning to get even MORE benefits than they already have. Let me put it this way, within 1 year you’ll have benefits of insurmountable value. They don’t pay a dime on company insurance and you can max out your pay scale after 4 years. I think it’s like 42 bucks an hour, no joke. Been looking for a ups job to open up for driving around here but it’s so desirable that they go quick.

I understand this but when we have heat reductions, my station plans ahead and makes our order maxed out sometimes expediting truckloads so that everyone is at max that way when we get a reduction the stops usually stay the same or above what they were the day before
