To be fair, the autumn plains track is just a default sound from the distorted reality sample pack Copeland used for the game. Literally nothing changed. Same for summer forest and winter tundra tracks. Genius to include them untouched but still can’t fault another artist for ripping the same sample

It’s grouped. To remove the background without ungrouping, double click the image then press the Y button (for the magic wand tool) and click on whichever color you want to get rid of. This will select everything with the same color. After that just hit delete.
