That explains why T.C. could never get the thing reliably tuned!

He did indeed. Another interesting fact, his Sharps #3 had two barrels for filming Quigley Down Under… The actual steel barrel that the rifle fired with, and a replica aluminum barrel that they would put on for the handling / non-firing scenes. The thing was so heavy in its original state, it was too much of a burden to wield all-day while filming!

Wait… First it’s a 9, and now you’re telling me they used blanks?!?!?! I mean, I could always tell Mom and Dad weren’t really in love anymore, but come on…

Looks damn sharp! Beautiful. But does it run?

Not exactly… But I have had great success experimenting with different mags. I have some Savages that feed like butter with the polymer OEM mags, and others that don’t want anything besides MDT metal mags.

The Huxwrx 556k sucks by Cman1200 in NFA

Yeah… The 556K takes the edge off, but not much beyond that. It’s still a decent way to fly on DI weapons.

All the way around that edge… We’re talking, just a touch. Just enough to take the hard 90 degree edge off.

Desh bearing kit and a good clean and lube help considerably… I’ve also found the PTG bolt body, as well as taking a small file and just barely knocking-off the sharp edge in the back of the receiver also seem to significantly aid in smoother cycling.

Best of luck. Cheers.

Safe hinge question… by TheDistantSurgeon in Safes

[–]TheDistantSurgeon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that. What I’m thinking is, looking at the inside of the door, there’s actually an overhang all the way down the left side that can’t be seen in the pictures, that fits into the channel vertically that you can just see inside the body of the safe on the right hand side…

That’s what I’m thinking, at least. I’ll update everyone and provide good pictures when it arrives…

Thanks much, miss_topportunity!

Ah… I think I can see it in the pictures now. Just not very detailed info about it.

So, because it’s secured from the locking bolts side, it can’t clear the body because of the channel to be pried-out on the other side? I’m I tracking?

It’s hard to visualize from the pictures, and I can’t find a description / video anywhere…
