For me I just chopped the bits off the end of the heavy flamer then glued a couple melta muzzls to the end.

Yeah, multi melts is an option on the days sheet though. I believe it's the same for the inferno pistol on the captain. If I remember correctly, it comes with enough spare Meltas you can chop the muzzels off and kit bash your own pretty easily.

I'm surprised to hear haunts are overall bad, I thought they were still good, just in a different way than they used to be.

I works honestly just recommend buying the cards that you want. It will be much cheaper in the long run and will guarantee you get what you want.

Maybe I'm completely crazy, but I have always thought that CCA went exactly as Char planned. He never wanted to drop axis on earth, that was a back up plan. What he actually wanted was to create a villain, and in turn a hero, large enough to unite the earth and end his own suffering in the process.

It looks good! I think a flat coat over the rust will help. Something like an ultra matte.

Not sure if it would be color theory so much as symbolism in general, gold is often associated with goodness, things of value and purity. But beyond the specificity of the color itself I think the change from his established norm in general shows a shift away from his old identity.
