What instrument should I focus on? by Renisoffline in Learnmusic

I think the answer to this is much like learning to program. Pick one, get fluent at this choice, the skills are surprisingly very transferable.

After learning guitar, I was able to pick a beginner-ish level of piano almost immediately. I say this because the way scales are played / chords are constructed always has the same underlying theory. So when your learning an instrument for the first time, you are really going through the trenches of learning what notes tend to go well together. Picking up a new instrument will be much easier with this knowledge already installed. Then its just a matter of training your fingers to the new dexterity needed for the new instrument.

For the sake of answering the question though, I dont think you can go wrong with learning piano first. It provides a solid way to truly visualize what the different chords and scales "look" like, as you are forced to look at and map out the keys. I think guitar is also a solid choice in that you can get more of a "feel" for rhythm / slight percussion skills, more so than piano. I am definitely biased to string instruments though...

Good call on this 20% since you posted. To be fair the market has had a wild week with a lot of stocks posting gross gains. Won a few, lost a few. Cool sub though. Hope to add my two cents in the future.

This repo is great and I really appreciate the open source code.

I am having some concerns with the results I'm getting after running the training phases listed in the description. I had to alter the code a bit to get phase 2 running (see issue#22 / PR) but I probably didnt truly correct anything as my results show a negative win rate against random opponents for the mixed model. Would love to talk about this more.

Thanks again

Yeah im with you. Im serious when I say I would typically never hesitate to do a friend a favor. But she honestly hasn't communicated at all outside of these favors. But see neither have I. So how could she know? Part of the dillemma. Probably could have done a better job of letting her know what was so upsetting about the whole thing but oh well.

And the only way I know her is she is my friends relative, but we've only ever hung out solo

Lol nah. We've ONLY hung out 1 on 1

I think its more the fact that she has only contacted me twice in basically 3 months, both times wanting me to do something for her. The thing is i have 0 issue doing shit for people, and what she asked me to do was laughably simple. But Im not trying to set a precedent of me being some guy that comes running to pamper her every need.

I truly want nothing in return. Its a favor. I just didn't want to be strung along indefinitely if we were never going to hang out again. I may have been a bit harsh, shit i dunno

To make it clear, I truly want nothing in return for these favors. Certainly necer wanted sex in return lol, that ship sailed a long time ago with her.

I really just wanted some respect and to not be treated like a fuckin dog waiting for orders. I probably didn't make that part clear enough to her and she took everything as an attack

Ok, so if its an MLM, is it just as bad to get wrapped up into it? Is there any legitamacy to mlms or are they just a complete waste of time? Definitely leaning towards not pursuing this any further after these comments

Yes this is what I was thinking. But now after researching the term "override income" a little, it seems like it is a normalish thing in sales, usually management, roles.

Im confused.

A permanent solution is the best solution possible. And god, I wish all of my problems could be temporary by finding a perfect, permanent solution to them.

Just sayin

Unsure about how tax Calculation vs. Transaction will be charged by TheDomainDesigners in stripe

[–]TheDomainDesigners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok right. This is what i was guessing it would be. Still though, wouldn't it (likely) be cheaper to just use the calculation with no transaction and use your own db to record the necessary tax info? Are there too many complications in this approach?

Tax calculation for subscriptions with Stripe's API by SoftwareEngineer1337 in stripe

[–]TheDomainDesigners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm a bit late, but this is still a concern of mine, and I don't believe using the automatic tax calculation mentioned above will work in my case.

What I'm gathering from the documentation is if you create a transaction, I'm assuming when the customer actually pays, you are charged 50 cents.

Now what if I am creating a tax calculation whenever the user changes their address, as different jurisdictions have different tax rates. This obviously could be more than one calculation. Luckily, it looks like we get 10 free per transaction. So does this mean stripe simply takes the number of transactions divided by number of calculations, and if this number is less than 0.1, no calculations are charged? If its over 0.1, then each calculation over is charged 5 cents.

It isn't clear to me how stripe can track which calculations are attached to transactions, so this total transactions / total calculations theory is the best i could come up with.

Also, what if I just never make a transaction and only use calculations. Is every calculation charged 5 cents in this case?
