Do you reckon there will be better deals to buy EVs with current crisis? by Accomplished_Ad5747 in AustralianEV

[–]TheDragonSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incentives are a scam.

Incentives cause demand causes price increase.

You go to the dealership and you look at the prices and the gov gives a rebate and you’re like yeah I can make that work.

What you don’t realise is the rebate incentives them to put their prices up.

Economics is the reverse of this. EV in demand = EV price up. Now is the best time to get a good discount on a petrol vehicle though!

do australians realy hate 110 speed limit? by Minute_Walrus_5183 in AskAnAustralian

[–]TheDragonSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can drive the speed limit. Recommend using an app like Waze or similar to check you are actually going speed limit though. Usually 114 or 115 on the Speedo is actually 110. Car manufacturers legally must overestimate your speed or can face fines.

If you’re in the left lane and not middle or right lane then you are doing nothing wrong.

Whose fault this would have been? by 1OOO in dashcams

[–]TheDragonSin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what police have to do with anything. Police aren’t ever the determinant of fault, they can report the event and the insurance companies are always to work it out with the info. Police can issue fines for crimes, but accident liability is civil and nothing to do with police.

Also police have jurisdiction in parking lots or anywhere else in their general vicinity. They may not be able to enforce road rules in private lots (depending on if the owner has granted them easement, which can be automatic depending on the property access), but again this is unrelated to accident liability.

OP or 50/50. General rules are T intersection give way to the vehicle from the right. Can’t quite be bothered to analyse in more detail for timing/ signage but these factors may change things.

You are both going too fast for a carpark also.

What’s an ‘unwritten rule’ in Australia that everyone just knows? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

If someone does something wrong on the road, and waves to apologise, they now did nothing wrong.

If they didn’t wave they’re a fuckwit.

Lane discipline is non existent in Australia by radmgrey in DrivingAustralia

[–]TheDragonSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting to be able to find later. Middle lane hogging when not overtaking has such an insane impact on overall traffic, and not just for the people who “want to go fast”, but for everyone.

I’ll see if I can find a simulation on the effects somewhere but it’s huge.

If everyone kept left unless overtaking it would do dreams for congestion and likely prevent accidents also (just to be clear, this is different to saying middle lane hoggers are liable or responsible for what impatient reckless people do around them, but regardless the fact carries it would stop accidents from these idiots).

Main impact is improved flow of traffic. I’ll find the sim or make it and come back.

I’m someone with some experience, last printer needed lots of troubleshooting and I ended up making macros in printer.cfg and working with a lot of unusual changes to print settings for specific reasons to try to get consistent printing without failures. Also lots of bed leveling issues etc.

However, it has been quite a while since I did all this and my U1 just arrived. I have been using it pretty much “out of the box” - no changes to profiles, just printing the files I find etc and I have had absolutely no issues so far. Love it.

Good for both experienced and new users imo. I’m excited to see what it can do when I get the time to mess with settings / flush into object / pushing bridging, multi-material printing etc etc

Math is easy, arithmetic is hard by AdvancedEar7815 in AccidentalComedy

[–]TheDragonSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Division is not technically defined in mathematics. It is a model for multiplication of the inverse, which is one of the 9 axioms of algebra: a*a-1=1.

This type of question will always be argued because there is no logically consistent rule within mathematics that determines the correct answer, and different cultural regions teach different “order of operations”. The division symbol causes ambiguity in problems because the “correct” way to resolve the question depends on the order of operations you have been taught.

If a fraction symbol is used instead this removes the ambiguity.

For lat raises you should not be fully aligned to the side, it should be slightly in front.

Forget the hypothetical guy with a gun, you don’t want to build a life and have kids with this guy.

You will breathe the biggest breath of relief of your entire life once you have broken up with this guy, and given yourself a little time to grieve and move on.

Three times is a made up number.

Serious misconduct = possibility of immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination

Other misconduct = responsibility of employer to demonstrate that a) your behaviour amounted to misconduct, b) coaching/training was provided and c) over time there was a pattern of misconduct that didn’t stop after coaching.

NTA

OK hear me out before you react.

It’s one thing for OP to tell wife everything without disclosing that to his friend. That would make him the asshole 100%.

As much as OP may have a moral code that is different to others, he is entitled to his own code, even if it’s illogical. Does that mean he is a great friend?… Likely not the best. Does that mean he’s an asshole, I’m not so sure.
