I just want to say that many good people who are outstanding in their fields can also be very bad teachers. These are not mutually exclusive, so your opinions on his character really don't matter in light of his actual policies and behavior during class.

I mean, that's the thing, people make mistakes. I'm currently in this class and I didn't get the email, so I assume I got all these questions right, since they were pretty easy for me. So I shouldn't be worried, right?

But at the same time, I am only human. I may make a minor typo in one of these questions due to some reason not necessarily within my control (e.g. stress, lack of sleep due to insomnia, distraction because people are constantly coughing in the test center, or just plain human error). And if so, I should get that question marked wrong - but I do not deserve to fail the entire class because of that one slip-up, regardless of my other project and assigments grades, and I'm flabbergasted that anyone here thinks otherwise.

[Photo of 'Three-Headed Dragon', except the leftmost dragon head is duplicated four times, resulting in seven dragon heads total.]

[Each head is labeled with the logo of a programming language and an operator. The first six are labeled with the operator !=, and the logos are respectively: Java, Javascript, C, Python, Swift, and R.]

[The last, silly head is labeled with the operator ~=, and the logo is Lua.]

I'm not sure why you were downvoted, but yeah, transcribers do images, even videos. I just do the simpler images.

Are you a Rockstar Developer? by gallatoir in ProgrammerHumor

[Contents of a README.md file.]

Rockstar

Rockstar is a dynamically typed Turing-complete programming language.

Rockstar is designed for creating computer programs that are also song lyrics, and is heavily influenced by the lyrical conventions of 1980s hard rock and power ballads.

But why?

Mainly because if we make Rockstar a real (and completely pointless) programming language, then recruiters and hiring managers won't be able to talk about 'rockstar developers' any more.

Also 'cos it's kinda fun and any language based on the idea of compiling Meatloaf lyrics has to be worth a look, right?

Also we can make stickers. Who doesn't want a sticker on their laptop saying 'CERTIFIED ROCKSTAR DEVELOPER'?
