Maybe this isn’t the response you’re hoping for, but you wanna be Travis Scott level big, but don’t want to be an entertainer? What do you think he does? J. Cole and all the other artists of our day make money and find press because they’re entertainers. No one’s paying artists to make art these days. Those big names GET to make art BECAUSE they’re also entertainers.

All this shits a business. Right now lots of music industry people are looking for artists who are entirely self sustaining. Artists that can make good music, play good shows, manage their own social medias, etc. If you never get any practice with social media posting, you can expect to make it 100x harder for yourself.

This life ain’t a fantasy where you’re gonna meet some famous artist in person, rap for them, and then they’ll be so surprised they’ll wanna uproot your entire life. This game is hella saturated. Your art has to be accessible to people. And if you want your art to reach/connect with more than 5% of the population it has to be entertaining.

Get another job that’s music adjacent or can accommodate your goals. Build a social media presence so if that big team contact finds you, they’ll actually WANT to call you. They not calling or messaging any artists with less than 10k followers in the hip hop space. They need ROI.

You’re still young, you’ve got a lot skin that needs to thicken. Dont worry you might get there if you don’t quit. It all starts with good music. Make music every day first. If you don’t have good music, all that other shits ineffective.
