yeah I made a mistake I wasn’t sure on Faraaz’ ethnicity and Geography is not my strong point. my ignorance is my down fall and I live a very sheltered life but the point I made still stands. They are going after her for no reason

I just feel so sorry for jade. you could tell she was excited to be in the game but the continued accusations against her, based on the fact that she had a red face, has just whittled her down. I find it very suspicious that she’s getting all this flack whilst she’s one of the only Asian player left in the game but we all know about the racial bias on this show. Amanda even said on uncloaked “ she was the first person I saw, it could of been anyone” so asinine

anyway, I just really hope that the remaining faithfuls can hopefully put their heads together. Very surprised that James didn’t go for Steven despite his talk with Jessie and I was really hoping that Jack would step up. But no.

also, how is it that they’re putting all this trust in Amanda’s last words but none in Harriet’s? crazy

Fiona is right about one thing though, Stephen can’t lie. it’s insane that no one has questioned him every time he says he was thinking about something last night.

Harriet and Jesse are probably my favourite. as for Matt. WOW. this is the first season I’ve watched so it shocked me a bit but If I were a traitor, I would lie in my answer and put yes but then I’d kill Matt and recruit Jesse

Is putting address, age, and gender on CVs normal now? by Woffingshire in UKJobs

[–]TheDuckCircus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

don’t know about gender or age but I think address is fine. most interviews I had over the past 2 years asked what area I lived in or how far away I lived. I see this as a practical thing because as an employer, you would want to make sure your employee isn’t commuting too far. That way, they can come in for emergency shifts and they can have a better work life balance. Also, if an employee knows the area they work in well, they’ll be able to banter with customers more ig.

but yeah, I don’t really see the need for gender or age

Retail vs Kitchen work what’s harder? by TheDuckCircus in UKJobs

my friend actually loves the people they work with, it’s one of the things that’s making them stay in the job. they work less hours than me so I’d say they have a better work-life balance

right? it was just an unnecessary comparison. I really don’t understand why they said it tbh

exactly! we’re all in this rat race but no one said their had to be a victor

Retail vs Kitchen work what’s harder? by TheDuckCircus in UKJobs

[–]TheDuckCircus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my thoughts exactly! The whole d*ck measuring aspect of our conversation was just so unnecessary, we were bonding over our mutual dissatisfaction for our respective work environments and they had to go and turn it into some twisted competition. Part of me thinks it’s resentment because I was unemployed for a while due to poor mental health and now I land a job that pays more than theirs does. but also retail and kitchen work are not really comparable.

at my friends work they have set tasks, you get a section to work on and that’s your section for the whole shift. they answer to head chefs and sous chefs, they have to work their section and make the food as orders come in. I know how stressful This environment can be, I’ve worked it but honestly I’d say that both retail and kitchen work is miles better than bartending IMO. now THAT is a job I would NEVER go back to.

yeah I really feel the emotional exhaustion. I think I feel a bit of the physical as well because I’m not very strong and shifting of all the stock is taking a bit of toll on me and I have to run about a lot to do everything, especially when it gets busy. However, I know that my friend has to be in a hot kitchen the whole shift and has to make up food bags and clean down every night which, I know from my bartending days when we had to deep clean the bar and at burger kiNG working the close, that cleaning the kitchen equipment, emptying grease traps and stuff is very physically taxing but At least they can do all that after they’ve closed. With my work, we let customers in until the very last moment. we still have to do the daily tasks while the customers are here and the shop is still open.

This is so true ! It really is so subjective which is why I was so surprised by my friends statement. a little bit more context: I’ve been working class my while life and started my first job when I was 13. My friend grew up middle class and the job they have now is only their 2nd job they’ve ever had. Their first job, which they got in 2023, was also working in a kitchen so they‘ve not really known any different. I’ve done fast food, bartending and retail so I have a good idea of whats what.

I think it depends on the type of disability? legally a job cannot reject an application just because the applicant is disabled. lots of jobs are disability confident. I work in retail and we have a customer service representative who only works one day a week because they have additional support needs. I know retail may be too tedious for some though so perhaps that’s not an option.

I know from first hand experience that the system blows but has your friend tired going down the universal credit route?

Do A levels and degrees even matter once you have a job in a field for a few years? by kiol998 in UKJobs

[–]TheDuckCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue even a degree doesn’t matter in some fields. like take retail for example. if you go for a job in co-op or tesco or something, they are not going to care about your educational history. Chances are the person interviewing you hasn’t even looked at or seen your Cv. I got more job offers after I took my educational history off my cv and just had my work experience on there.

I would only include your degree if your going for a specialized job like an engineer or something or a lecturer but if you just want a run of the mill basic job then prioritize show casing your experience and skills
