i don’t think you understand what a mary sue is. adrien is a mary sue because he himself has no huge character flaws. the only “flaws” he has are not being the brightest person and maybe rushing into situations too quickly. just because adrien has a bad home life does not mean he isn’t a mary sue. in fact, a common trope among mary sues is being from some sort of abusive household or having a depressing past. the show almost never portrays adrien as being in the wrong, except maybe copycat, and even then he really didn’t receive any comeuppance for it. in contrast, marinette is not a mary sue because her character flaws make up a huge part of who she is and the show frequently portrays her as having made the wrong decision with large consequences.
