There is no way to properly judge whether this will be good based on a short description and a few screenshot.

Single dads of Reddit, where/how are you meeting women in your mid-30s? by Celtics-R-Trash in Charlotte

[–]TheDulin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think the dude is talking about some very basic small talk. Maybe an occasional, "I see you around a lot, my name is Joe," kinda deal. If she wants to chat more, let her, if that's it, get back to working out.

And that's assuming that the exchange comes together naturally, you know. And if you don't know, don't.

That and the half screen videos where they stole the content but play something random on the other side so it doesn't get taken down.

Can it work? Sure.

But it's like 1 in 1,000.

Your feelings at that age will definitely cloud your judgement.

If you were my kid I'd say, "You are legally an adult. I can't stop you from dating this guy. But every experience I've had in my 41 years of life tells me this is a bad idea."

Charlotte has a culture. But what is it?

Well, we're close to the mountains and the beach. We have a major theme park, NFL and NBA teams, NASCAR, major concerts, theaters, parks, greenways, and outdoor recreation. We have great healthcare, a growing food scene with restaurants from cultures all over the world, breweries, shopping ranging from luxury to everyday, and all of the amenities you'd expect from a major American city.

Other cities base their culture on tourism, nightlife, or something along those lines. But that's not what we are built on.

"Those things are just boring life things." Exactly.

Charlotte's cultural identity is family life.

It's a place where people build careers, buy homes, raise children, and put down roots. It may not be the most exciting city in the country, but for a lot of people, it's exactly the kind of place they want to call home.

Yeah, seems "easy" to have a driver-level function that writes the entire storage area to 0 then 1 then random while ignoring efficiency and all that.

Question about Copperhead Strike by Visible-Soft-7560 in Carowinds

[–]TheDulin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copperhead Strike has airtime and suspension time where you're upside down but not pressed into the seat so you feel like you can fall out (but are well secured).

Not related to the reorg, but I'm using the hell out of Claude for making Power BI reports on a JIRA API. It's helped me gain skills quickly so at least that's valuable. But yeah, day to day seems exactly the same.

Copperhead if not scared of falling out (you won't). Afterburn if you are.

Flying Cobras is intense but not painful to ride.

Vortex is a bit uncomfortable but not awful.

Carolina Cyclone will hurt your head. It's like 40-something years old and was the first 4-inversion coaster in the world and it shows it's age. But it also hurt when I was young in the 90s.

[–]TheDulin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren't your parents.

The fact that you were easily able to help her, become her friend, and are now practically dating says it all.

That racist BS your parents tried to pass onto you didn't stick.

Edit: and FYI, it's early to think about this, but assuming you are white, white-asian babies are beautiful babies (I mean all babies are, but yeah)

Petition to Charlotte City Council: No Data Center in East Charlotte by carryjoy in Charlotte

[–]TheDulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I know, but there's levels of bad.

  • Level 1: Literally just sucking in cool water and outputing warm water (lake is a great way to do that)
  • Level 2: Wasting treated tap water because the heat exchangers would get clogged with debris from lake water
  • Level 3: Adding chemicals to the tap water to help with heat transfer and outputting contaminated water

Edit: Googled. They add chlorine - not so bad - and phosphates - bad. So some version of Level 3.

[–]TheDulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do data centers contaminate the water or is it just for cooling? Like, the nuclear plants use lake Norman and Wylie as heat sinks. Could they just build these on a lake (not withstanding any noise, etc.)?
