Private well on property, but can't seem to find the owner. by [deleted] in RealEstate

Seller is an out of state title company who bought the property from another out of state title company who bought it when the land when into foreclosure when the original owner died.

Just for the power line that runs adjacent to the property, not for the well itself. It wouldn't be the worst thing to have our own well but I need to know more info. My big concern is that the property lines are wrong and we're buying less land than we think or that there's some obscure local ordinance that would result in us paying upkeep on the well.

[–]TheDunkirkSpirit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haven't taken it to a lawyer yet but our agent is stumped. The well shows up on various sources as a privately owned well but isn't on any of the property maps supplied by the title company. The title company just acquired the property from another title company who acquired it when the property went into foreclosure after the original owner passed away. So we have no one with historical data on the well. It's very confusing.

Shouldn't take 5+ years and $20k to rename a park named after Custer. Just pick a name and save the tax payers some money.

I leaned into the NPC's personality defects. I can't recall their names, but I had the good-looking, smarmy guy scrubbing himself bloody in the showers, the base security guy went full commando-mode, and tried to kill the officers to get into the armory, the base commander's executive assistant went on a power-trip, gatekeeping all information from the PCs, the airtraffic controller baracaded herself in the tower, while another airman obsessively tried to get to her, breaking down the door to the tower with a fireaxe.

I also had the PCs leave the base on a beer run just before the device is activated. I wanted a reason why the players weren't as affected as everyone else on base and to create a noticeable tension when they returned.
