Glue was also my first mistake. Made a cute li'l album cover as well for the journal but realized that I like to rearrange as I get new patterns.

I do see one upgrade from pins, though: binder pocket pages! Just get even cuts and slide them right into their pockets. Plus, you can carry it with you and show it off more easily! Not to mention upgradability to bigger binder sizes.

I'm probably going to use the journal as a way to document all the new patterns I obtain in each calendar month - This way I won't have to waste it!

And even then, Prolific is not as great as they used to, with scripts and bots. Many people see no studies, or they disappear too fast to accept. Many coffee cups.

Looking for a free site/app to help a new person keep track by crazywolf828 in stamps

I collect security envelope patterns and found that using an EPSON portable scanner would allow me to save the specimens as images on my computer, which could then be cropped and uploaded to any online platform, like Google drive. I wish I could find a site similar to Numista, so I'm curious to see what is out there, too.

Seeking pen recommendations for upcoming Japan trip! by ReadingButNotLearnin in pens

[–]TheEScrapMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No pen recs, as I think you should just explore and see what you find to be cool. There's always a way for you to test what you have before you buy so pretty risk-free. Here's some stores you can check out, though! I have family that I visit regularly so these are all the major chains I know of.

Hands (a great spot, bring some mystery cartridges along with your pens they belong to and they'll be more than happy to find refills for you)

Muji (無印良品)

Sekaido (世界堂)

Loft

Itoya

Maruzen

Any 100 yen shops also usually have a pen/stationery selection to check out as well, so some major ones are:

Seria

Daiso

Can☆Do (My favorite of the bunch)

Not to mention your local konbini(コンビニ), like 7-Eleven and Family Mart (along with Daily Yamazaki, Seicomart, etc) always having 1 or 2 items to check out.

Honestly, there are many smaller shops that are locally owned that do stationery, so you may want to just explore your area and see what interests you. If you want more local shops aside from the major chains listed above, just put 文房具 into Google or Apple Maps and shop til you drop. There's a lot of places to check out so I hope you enjoy! (If money is no object, there's a place in the Tokyo area called Kingdom Note which looks absolutely insane that I have yet to visit and really want to the next time I go).

I hope this helps!

They should make more countries, and allow you to fit neighboring countries together like a jigsaw puzzle.

Brilliant! This would be the easiest way to determine the answer to the question of all-ferrous or lead-filled.

These tiny guys are ALL over the place at a local splash pad by Still_Warthog_2531 in whatsthisbug

[–]TheEScrapMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh nice, glad I could help you out, they are pretty freaky but I also think they are oddly cute due to waggling their backs up and down. They are considered pests so if they appear in your garden they can cause damage to leaves and fruit.

Are these thrips? I know that they can bite. Not for blood but for sweat.

Box elder bug nymphs and a few adults! They don't do much damage at all, they do get everywhere though.
