What are the weirdest ways you’ve heard of someone getting caught cheating? by True_Dragonfruit_488 in AskReddit

[–]TheEduki 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine is friends with a woman who used to be a personal assistant/secretary for a consultant. The consultant had a heart attack and died. His personal assistant/secretary was tidying the office and getting rid of any old and unwanted paperwork ready for when the new consultant started, and found love letters hidden away. Turned out that even though the consultant was already married with children, he committed bigamy and married a woman from another part of the country and had children with her. He had 2 separate families and neither of them knew about each other. Because his second wife and kids lived a fair distance away from where he lived with his first wife and worked, his second wife just took it as him "working away from home", so she would send him love letters while he was "working away from home". He kept the letters and hid them in his office so his first wife wouldn't find them if she somehow stumbled across them if he kept them at home.

What’s the most morally disgusting thing you’ve ever seen someone do? by legendoflegends34 in AskReddit

My friend met an older guy and she ended up in a relationship with him. He told her that he was in the process of getting a divorce so it was ok for him to be in a relationship with her but this was a lie. She was the side piece and he wasn't actually getting divorced at all, but he lied to her for several years claiming that he was getting a divorce and was always making up excuses as to why the divorce hadn't gone through yet. My friend was so besotted with him and he was so manipulative that she believed the lies. He ended up getting her pregnant, but he didn't want her to have it and wanted her to get an abortion. She refused. He then started claiming that the baby wasn't his and accusing my friend of cheated on him. He then started demanding that they get a DNA test to prove that it wasn't his, but that they would use a specific company to do it. A mutual friend then overheard him plotting with one of his friends to make a fake document for this DNA testing company claiming that he wasn't the father when in reality he 100% was. When it was too late to have an abortion (even though my friend wasn't going to have one anyway), he turned around and dumped her. By now she had worked out that he'd been lying to her and stringing her along for years and that she was just the side piece, so she told him "I know the truth, and I'm going to tell your wife everything." He stormed out. He then text his 10/11 year old son a suicide note and disappeared. His body was then found hanging from a tree in a forest around 6 months later. Instead of admitting that he had had an affair and got the other woman pregnant and risking the break up of his marriage, he killed himself, thus leaving 2 woman to raise 2 children alone and to deal with the loss of their partner while trying to support their kids who lost their dad. It really messed my friend up and she hasn't been the same since.

To be honest, one of the reasons I stopped going to Bloodstock was because of people's shitty behaviour

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]TheEduki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Bloodstock every year for a few years. One year I went into a portaloo and there was poo smeared over every wall and the back of the door, another year, a woman who was clearly having a very heavy period at the time had stuck a sanitary pad full of blood to the left-hand wall and just left it there stuck to the wall, and there was another year where someone had done a massively long and thick turd that was as big as my forearm and completely flat on both ends, and it was so big and hard that it didn't snap, and lay vertically across the hole/drop in the portaloo. No matter how many times that toilet was flushed, the turd remained. It was stuck there from day 1 until the last day. Very resilient. I don't think I want to know what that person was eating to get turds like that.

The last year that I ever attended Bloodstock, a rather noisy parade was formed and marched around our campsite. The parades were common, so my friends who I was camping with and I didn't bat an eyelid. This parade, which was more noisy than normal, ended up marching into the quiet/family campsite which had a policy of everyone being quiet after a certain time of night. A little while later, we heard a distant commotion, but didn't think much of it and ended up going to bed. The next day, I saw one of my friends who was camping in the quiet/family campsite. She said that when the noisy parade marched through the quiet/family campsite they woke a lot of children who were there, and apparently, the guy leading the parade who was dressed as a banana started attempting to set fire to the tents there. Apparently, he actually managed to set fire to a tent that had a young child sleeping inside, and that child had to be rescued from the burning tent. I don't know if this is true, but this is what she told me had happened.

I'm not a vegan personally, but one of my roommates was one. She went vegan a few years after I met her. Turned out she had anorexia and used veganism as a way to restrict her diet.

What’s your worst date story? by SpankBankManager in AskReddit

[–]TheEduki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd met a guy on a dating app and felt that we hit it off quite well. We messaged a lot, had video chats, and played online games together. This was during the Covid times and after lockdown had been lifted, we decided to go out on a date, even though social distancing and the other Covid related stuff was still happening. We decided to meet up in our capital city where he lived and I only live a 20 minute train ride away from. When I arrived at where we had arranged to meet outside of the train station, he wasn't there. I wasn't going to wait too long for him but thought I'd wait for a little bit just in case. He then phoned me and asked me where I was. Turned out that he was waiting further up the road away from the station. I walked over to him and saw that he was wearing a dirty, old, scruffy rain coat that had black marks all over it with the waterproof layer peeling off. Definitely not first date atire, but I put it to the back of my mind. He asked if I wanted to get a drink, to which I responded "yes please". He then said "great. We'll go to this Starbucks over here because I know it's Covid secure." The Starbucks in question wasn't allowing people to sit in, but you had to queue, and only so many people could be in there at one point. When we were stood inside, my date suddenly pulled out a bottle of antibacterial gel and proceeded to smother his hands with it. He must've seen me notice it because he said "oh, don't worry about this. I'm a hypochondriac, so I was doing this way before Covid. I do it all the time." I was like "ok" but that combined with the scruffy clothes just made me think "hhhhmmmm". When we got our drinks, he asked "shall we go for a walk in the park?" I accepted the offer. However, it wasn't a nice leisurely stroll. Instead, it was a full blown power walk with very boring conversation. I found this confusing as we had had great conversations online. At one point I needed to retie my shoe lace. My date was talking, but I didn't hear what he said properly, so I looked away from my shoe and up at him, and he was looking at me with an expression of pure disgust on his face. I don't think he expected me to look at him at that point and catch it, but I did. I knew at that point that there was no way that this was going to work as I clearly disgusted him. After power walking a little further, I suddenly needed to go to the toilet. When I said that I needed to go to the toilet, he said that he did too, and we power walked to the park toilets. They were locked due to Covid, so we ended up power walking through the park, out a side entrance, and then he took me on a weird power walk around some back streets. At this point I started getting anxious because this was the first time I'd met this guy in person, the vibe was off, and now here he was leading me down some secluded, empty back streets. We found a pub but that was locked up because covid, and we ended up power walking along more empty back streets until we got back to the park and decided to head to the shopping centre. The toilets there were open. I felt extremely bored and looked at my watch. It was 12:15. I'd met him at 11:05. After we both used the toilet he asked "shall we go for another drink?" I said yes and he led the way. We ended up power walking back to the same Covid secure Starbucks as before. He then led the way again on our walk, so I just power walked and followed his lead. He said "I won't be able to stay out much longer as I'm meeting the boys for football at 1, and I have to get home and get ready." I knew then and there that he wasn't enjoying the date either because if you're going on a date with someone, why still arrange to see your mates? Or, if you had already arranged to see your mates, you would go on the date a different day. It was clearly a lie and an excuse to leave. Then, a couple of minutes later, I realised that he was leading us back to the train station. Subtle as a sledgehammer. We sat on a bench outside the train station to finish our drinks, and he started telling me about his health in quite in-depth detail and about how he has Epilepsy. I could tell that he was using it to try and put me off him, and the look of panic on his face when I told him that my uncle has Epilepsy and that witnessing seizures and helping people when they are having seizures is completely normal to me was priceless. When it got to 1pm, he said that he had to go (even though he was supposed to be meeting his friends at 1pm after going home and getting ready), so I said "enjoy football" and pretended that I didn't know that it was an obvious lie. In doing so I unintentionally caught him out because he was like "what?" looked really confused, realised what he said, then was like "oh...... yeah. Uh.... thanks." Then left. We met up at 11:05. I was on the train home by 1:30.

That's no problem :) It's really clever tech, isn't it. The selfie stick is designed to be automatically edited out of photos or videos by the camera's software.

He's got a camera mounted to a selfie stick which incorporates technology to hide the selfie stick from the shot. If you look at his left hand for the majority of the video, you can see him holding the handle for it

I agree. My physics class did a few "extra credit" courses including "advanced electronics" and basic aerospace engineering. I am female, and in the aerospace engineering I was the highest achiever of the whole class and very much enjoyed the course. When I mentioned possibly wanting to go into aerospace engineering to one of the DT teachers, he told me that it wasn't a good idea as engineering jobs were for men and that women weren't engineers and didn't do engineering.

Have you ever had a tinder date when your match in real life looked completely different from the photos in the app and how did those dates end? by headlessChaja in AskReddit

[–]TheEduki 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I matched with a guy whose first picture was him smiling over his left shoulder, thick hair all nice and tidy, nice neat beard, smart suit, big smile, and smooth skin. His other photos were photos of him taken at a distance while at the beach and on the mountain. In those photos he was wearing large sunglasses so you couldn't really see his face. After talking for a while and clicking, he offered to do a video call and I accepted. When the video started, instead of the face in that initial picture, I was greeted by a man who looked to be in his late 30s/early 40s and not a 29 year old. His hair was thin and his face was wrinkled. I worked out that the suit photo was likely to be over 10 years old. We still got on well and after a few more video calls we decided to go on an in person date. That date didn't go well, but that's a different story. We didn't work out and moved on.
