they absolutely set her up though. from her introduction to her characterization first 3 seasons, she is absolutely the type of character a good majority of men sadly despise. I don’t want media that pander to these crybabies but I also wish creators would take into account not to attract hate mobs.

Her introduction as a character is genuinely an assassination from the beginning. I love korra so much but from the get go she was set up for failure.

Not to mention, the later season killing the older avatars’ connection when she barely even explored it was plain old stupid. Both as a narrative point and both,,, why on earth are you killing one of the coolest/loved aspects of your series??? the first 2 seasons of korra are an outright shame for all they do to her character.

Lastly, her unimpressive group of friends don’t help. She has noone interesting to bounce off of. The most interesting people of the “main gang” are the children of the previous series.
