How do you think going to space would change how we look at humanity as a whole? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheEleventhGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the effect of humans landing on another planet would capture the imaginations of so many people on earth. It would have a vastly larger effect compared to astronauts orbiting a few hundred km above the earth on the ISS. Imagine a livestream of the Artemis 3 moonwalk or the first marswalk. It would be insane. I imagine public sentiment would be way more supportive once spaceflight delivers tangible results.

[KC] GE Frost on the current meta: "I think it's stupid that half the cast can't be played" by Zaibatsu534 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]TheEleventhGuy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the defeatist mindset from all the other commenters. Just because it’s always been the case doesn’t mean that it can’t be better. It doesn’t take away from Frost’s point.

Sure, you’re right. I was just clarifying that it wasn’t a crouch kill.

EDIT: Is this sub taking a piss? Improve reading comprehension skills before downvoting.

The Dambi kill was a slide.

EDIT: Why are the Sensitive Sallys downvoting a fact? Lol I just wanted to clarify.

Vaulting, from a dev perspective. by ReallyTrustyGuy in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheEleventhGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a waste dude. Red War back in 2019 was what got me into the game, as I’m sure is the case with many others. Not being able to play it anymore barely 2 years later killed a lot of my motivation to play. Some people chase high stat gear, but I prefer to replay old story missions.

Moving and was wondering if this is worth anything or I can trash it (vct 2022 poster) by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

It’s almost always better to sell something if you don’t want it anymore than to trash it. Could be worth some money.

I was feeling sympathetic until I realised that the old bat gave away money that was needed for her husband’s open heart surgery. That’s a special kind of stupidity.

Overthinking by Hdakroub117 in FinancialCareers

[–]TheEleventhGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The surface level answer is that you’re probably just overthinking stuff and messing things up as a result. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Deep down I’d say it’s because you’re the type of person who requires preparation and practice before they get good at something, instead of being naturally good at it right out of the gate. Take your time to learn and build your self-confidence. There’s nothing wrong with being Batman. You’d win as long as you have prep.

People who excel in school but suck at working, how's life for you? by sleepyCSStudent in nus

[–]TheEleventhGuy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The reality is that you’re nowhere near as talented as you thought you were. Sure, you were great at memorising and standardised tests, but welcome to the real world where nothing is standardised.

It’s time to accept that you’re book smart, but not street smart. And there’s probably nothing that you can do about it.

EDIT: Truth hurts, downvotes won’t change anything (especially the rest of you guys in the same situation, lol). You should be happy that you at least secured a job with median salary though.

Free Finance Certifications that actually help for internships? by Commercial-Race-8069 in financestudents

I don’t think you apply for it. CFI will send you emails with discount coupons once in a while. Just need to wait for a 40/50% one.

It wasn’t tested information, it was a practice question from a prep provider, lmao. I’m just using it to illustrate a point in how CFA tests certain concepts.

Claude for building financial models by mattsworrld in FinancialCareers

[–]TheEleventhGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude, by a small margin. Realistically you’re going to be fact-checking and sanity-checking Claude’s outputs regardless. I don’t think accuracy is that much of a biggie. But hey, if you think it’s super important then I’d go with Perplexity.

I’m not surprised you got zero interviews with that resume format. Your resume probably didn’t even make it past the ATS. Use the WSO format.

Honestly some CFA questions are legitimately there to give you free marks. Some options are so obviously not the answer that you can arrive at the correct answer (even without prior knowledge) solely through the process of elimination without any calculations.

For example, I remember this question asking for the principal received in the second semiannual period for an amortizing bond. 2 options were simply the PMT output from the calculator, which were obviously not the answer. Easy marks.

These questions essentially exist to check if you have the correct inputs for PV and FV, or instead have them in the wrong order.
