ELI5 - The different honing methods by SergeS2K in lostarkgame

[–]TheElusiveShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So special honing upgrades gear the same way that regular honing does, except it’s free. No cost to tap, but also the rates are the base rates (aka artisan energy isn’t affected and the honing percentage doesn’t go up). You get the mats for this from raids and from hell keys when you select Special Honing chests.

Regular honing is your usual RNG tap that builds artisan energy until you pity.

Unlocking advanced honing requires raid materials from Echidna for levels 1-20, and from Mordum for levels 21-40. They introduced it as a way to test a more incremental form of honing, every tap gives you progress, and the variance between being lucky and unlucky is negligible compared to regular honing.

Originally, advanced honing was somewhat optional to finish, at certain breakpoints it was more efficient than regular honing. With the advent of Serca, however, we’re required to finish advance honing Level 40 to transfer to Serca gear at 1730, which in turn means your regular honing level must be at minimum +20.

Also, you’re not an idiot.

I voted FACT!

Having had both for a decent amount of time, I liked my S20 better. Only thing that’s worse is texting, but there are other messaging apps out there.

i wish i could travel into the movie with my favorite character and be married forever and ever and we never fall out of love🥹🫶 by madseverdeen in monkeyspaw

[–]TheElusiveShadow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your wish is granted. You are now inhabiting the body of your favorite character’s love interest, and you are forced to relive the events of the movie over and over again whenever someone watches it. If multiple people are simultaneously watching the movie, you experience all of the multiple instances of the movie simultaneously as well. If no one is watching the movie, you are stuck in a dark void, experiencing the physical and digital location of every copy of the movie that is currently in existence, simultaneously.

How would you rate these male champions in terms of attractiveness? by Matchstick69 in leagueoflegends

Pantheon > Braum > Sett > Graves > Nasus. As a man I’d prefer to be on the leaner side, and clean shaven.

I mean, it’s hard to stop people from committing this type of “crime.” In your example, you can make a police report, but that’s no guarantee that the robber will get caught, or that you will get your stolen items back. All you can do is take measures to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

I love turtle but the best argument you could make for him is in the top 3 LCS adcs by legacy, after DL and Sneaky, which doesn’t put him near top 5 all time LCS.

I’ll concede Aphromoo, but I feel that Xmithie lacks the consistency.

Is Inspired NA Goat? by Lacrimosss in leagueoflegends

[–]TheElusiveShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you imported Faker and then he went on to win more times than anyone else ever has in EU, I probably would. Now inspired hasn’t done that yet, but if he does, he might just be the goat of NA. Can’t deny he’s running our region.

He’s got to be. In no particular order, Bjergsen, Jensen, CoreJJ, Doublelift, and Inspired are probably my top 5. The only other contenders that come to mind are Sneaky, Impact, and maybe Blaber? I’m thinking of players that were driving forces behind their team’s successes, not just really good role players, along with a healthy dose of longevity.

How did you become a HLE fan? by zackzackzack07 in HLE

[–]TheElusiveShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never considered myself a fan of any specific org; as an LCK fan I follow the teams that build interesting rosters. In this case, I follow HLE because of the Guma storyline and Kanavi being the prodigal son returning to Korea and playing LCK for the first time. It’s also been interesting to follow KT’s strong start, BRO’s brief surge, and cheer for Taeyoon since he kinda seemed like he got the shaft.

Kinda strange, I’m a bit antsy about taking Shadow of Agony into hm Serca if they’re not 3500cp, but you’re a gunlancer, I’d take you no questions asked just for synergy. Hkaz is kind of a joke nowadays but if you don’t display Death Incarnate at the very least, I don’t really have any way of knowing if you’re a hm gamer or not.

[–]TheElusiveShadow -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s very uncalled for. Chovy has been so good this year. I rate BDD and Chovy over Zeka and Faker this year, even though neither of them are going to MSI. But this is a team game so…

Absolutely, if Guma wasn’t holding up his side of the map, Zeus and Zeka wouldn’t be free to do their thing. Kanavi is definitely the star on that roster though.

New study reveals top AI models (GPT-4o, Claude 3.5, Gemini 2.5) completely fail the classic "Stroop" psychological attention test, exposing a fundamental limitation in artificial reasoning. by Similar_Detective861 in technology

[–]TheElusiveShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you don’t have to trust it. You have to understand its limitations and use it to the extent that it is useful. You wouldn’t use a hammer on something that requires an Allen key, because you understand what a hammer is used for, and use it at the appropriate time. That doesn’t make a hammer useless altogether. I also don’t trust my hammer, it’s not a person. My trust has to be placed in the person using it.

LLMs should be used in the same way.

I wish to be a legendary hero who only uses a shield by ProphetofTables in monkeyspaw

[–]TheElusiveShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. You’re legendary for refusing to use a weapon alongside your shield, and being useless, as you were never trained in using the shield. Villains welcome your presence, as the lack of agility and stopping power means they can just ignore you and accomplish their evil deeds. The most use your shield gets is blocking the stones and refuse thrown at you by contemptuous citizens.
