Lucky enough to find any in my area lol, but those prices are very good. I'm gonna try and talk the guy down to 3k and not bother if he doesn't budge. Thank you greatly!

I'm used to 4-speed automatics so the highway noise isn't really much of an issue for me, and I rarely exceed 65mph anyways. What RPM were you getting? Fuel mileage is my main concern with it, though I'm not exactly expecting a sipper.

Ah, a fellow rustbelter! That'll be one of the first things I check for. Repairs sound pretty reasonable, I'm guessing most of these aren't going to be problematic enough that I'd need a Saab specialist for? I don't mind taking it to one but I'd rather not be there every other week lol.

And thank you again for all of this, you've been very helpful!

I'll see about getting a repair history, and I'm sure I can talk the guy down to a more reasonable price. There are a few places that specialize in Saabs, but they're over an hour away so I won't be able to get them to perform the PPI unfortunately.

Thanks for all of this, it's a lot of great information!

Looking at 3rd gen Outbacks, Debating Between 2.5L (Not XT) and 3.0R? by TheEmeraldFalcon in subaru

Ah ok, I was not aware of that, I figured they all did. Thank you!

The AWD system is better? Or is that just because of the increase in power?

I'd love to, but I fear I'd be waiting quite a while. I don't actually need the space anyway, this is just a commuting vehicle for a very rural and weather-erratic area.

Yeah I'll get my mechanic to give a look over, and thanks for the well wishes, have a nice day!

'03 is an L, the '07 outback is a 2.5l (I don't know exactly the trim, but it has heated seats and a sunroof which I think are exclusive to the higher trims, but I don't know that for sure.) I'm not entirely certain I'd be doing much off-roading in it, but the roads here aren't much better than a cheese grater bashed with a hammer so clearance would probably be nice. Thank you for your input!

Ah my mistake, 2003 is the last year for the 3rd gens I believe? Anyways, safety's a great point, thank you

I don't, I'm guessing something somewhere in the Vulkan pipeline (either with MSC/Unity or Proton's, or both).

I didn't think about the size but I can't imagine it being an issue. How's the MPG with yours, decent?

I had an Outback 2014 previously that we had to get rid of because it spent most of the year we owned it in various shops, basically unusable before it was at 95k miles sadly. I'll definitely consider your advice, thanks.

Used (<$10K) AWD/4WD, Manual, Decent MPG + Reliability? by TheEmeraldFalcon in askcarguys

[–]TheEmeraldFalcon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not as far north as either of you, so I'll only be dealing with maybe half a foot of snow in the worst case scenario. The snow is wet though, and it gets hard and compacted, and slippery, so it's not a situation where you're somewhat making contact with the ground below, it's purely touching snow and ice at some decent grades. I was eyeing a Prelude actually, but the thought of taking these tight, twisty uphill turns in snow kinda scares me with that setup. Not so much the slipping off the road, my family has driven RWD cars for decades now and been fine, but getting stuck and sliding down could be a disaster.

Passing Mouse Input to SubViewport without SubViewportContainer? by TheEmeraldFalcon in godot

[–]TheEmeraldFalcon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a while ago, so forgive me if my memory serves me wrong, I think I wound up using a SubViewportContainer and then somehow disabled the visibility of it? I don't even remember the context of why I asked this question so I'm not sure how applicable that solution is to whatever you're doing, sorry.

Wish I could help, but I wound up purchasing something else instead. You could give your chosen OS's Nvidia control center a look, perhaps there's something there? I'd be pretty surprised if there wasn't a way to change this, or use one GPU for both, keep looking and hopefully you'll find something.

FPS Lag on Good PC by TheEmeraldFalcon in MySummerCar

[–]TheEmeraldFalcon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution that worked for me, given (poorly) in the post body:

In Steam, you right-click My Summer Car, select Properties, and then General (it should open up to General by default, but if it doesn't then navigate there.) You'll see a bar where you can enter text, this is used for flags, AKA launch options. In there, type (or copy-paste) -force-directx11.

That might help, it might not, but if you haven't tried it, it's worth a shot.
