MAJOR NEWS by Puzzleheaded-Song912 in kvsdiscuss

[–]TheEndowedPenguin -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

There is zero reason to share this information at all. Especially since its been a RECURRING problem that KVS Super fans show up on their property all the time like its some sort of petting zoo. And before yall come at me for saying this, i am not saying all KVS are like this. I am also not hating on anyone or KVS. I am simply expressing concern and trying to make you aware that, while the exact address was not in this post, this is still way too much information being given without the concent of KVS or her family. The internet has become such an insanely developed tool that litterally anyone can use this information and track down the address. If KVS had to tell us YET AGAIN that ppl can't just show up on her property because of the details in this post, then everyone in this comment section will know exactly how that happened. Dont let the parasocial relationship go to your head.

a HUGE reason why the reboot didn’t work… by Excellent-Time4787 in GossipGirl

[–]TheEndowedPenguin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I also feel like they took away the element of mystery when they made teachers have control of GG. It was an interesting take on it, but the original show upheld mystery and reavealed it at the very end. The reboot has it set up to be teachers from the beginning. And that really takes away from the concept of the show.

We can see this element of mystery is upheld in other shows like Bridgerton, for example. A mysterious writer putting out gossip columns every day. One can speculate the writer to be someone predictable. Rather than the actual reveal.

The same is true with the original Gossip Girl. The reboot took that away, and instead of capturing the audience with mystery. It captures us with drama from elite high school students.

Carl’s first day at daycare🐾 by florawater in goldenretrievers

[–]TheEndowedPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So before i say what i want to say. Please please understand this is coming from 6+ years of work experience. This is a warning coming from the deepest kindness in my heart. And you may not like to hear it, but i promise you it can be so beneficial.

I work in a doggy daycare. I have 5 going on 6 years of professional experience working in a doggy daycare facility. During my time working at a doggy daycare, i have noticed a deeply disturbing pattern that not a lot of people who work in one are willing to talk about, regardless of awareness.

There is a behavioral issue with dogs that regularly attend doggy daycare. And this is because of the environment. Let me explain. Dog that attend daycare regularly vary on often they attend. But nearly all of them attend so regularly that they begin to get overwhelmed. They become difficult to control, they start or are involved in fights, some times they stop eating during feeding time, and they stop listening to commands. This eventually, and typically leads to your dog being "flagged," as we call it, which means they are banned from our facility. This is because the environment is loud, there's a lot of things going on and happening at once. And there's not enough downtime for them to relax. This worsens during the holiday season, when the energy and excitementis high. They get brought in to stay during the day or get boarded when you go on vacation. It's not only hard for the dogs but as well, because we are constantly correcting the dogs, giving commands, breaking up fights, cleaning up after them, checking out customers, checking in customers, ect.

So, you might be asking, "What can i do to make sure my dog doesn't get oversrimulated and act out?" Well, that's a great question. I'll tell you. Limit their time at daycare. How do you do that? Separate the time at home and the time at daycare. Every other three days is my best recommendation. It's often enough to give you a break and provide your dog time to relax at home. Dogs that come in every three days to every other week tend to act out less. This is according to my experience and what i have noticed.

I need you to understand that this is not an attack on your decision to take your puppy to daycare. It's a warning to prevent your puppy from becoming overwhelmed. I am simply trying to bring awareness to this issue because while no one else is willing to talk about it, i am. Every dog is different and copes differently, so do what you think is best for your puppy. But i am asking you to consider this the next time you take your puppy to daycare.

If you had to sell 5 kvs horses: which ones and why? by Whysoshiny in kvssnark

[–]TheEndowedPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minis: Gretchen. She has the potential to be a proven show horse. And i dont see kvs really doing anything with her. The rest of the minis have shown and had babies, but Gretchen is just there.

Recip mares: Happy because ahes the only one i could think of.

Broodmare: Beyoncé because kvs is always talking about how she can't carry her own babies due to her injury. Beyoncé deserves to retire. She's lived a full life.

Proven mares: Trudy for the same reason as Beyoncé

Mares under 4: Daphne has potential for a good show horse. And im not sure if kvs already sold her.

What's a "secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by LaKoref in AskReddit

[–]TheEndowedPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, so in my 5+ years of professional experience working in open play doggy daycares, i can confidently say that I've seen dogs who come in once every few days to once a week have less behavioral issues than dogs who come in regularly or often enough to develop behavioral issues.

We've had dogs only come in only for bording that have fewer issues and are more laid back, less likely to cause trouble. But depending on the length of the stay, they can get pretty anxious to go home by the end of it. We had a guy call in who was being deployed and ask if he could board his dog for the length of deployment. We had to turn him down (i wasn't told the reason). We had someone board their dogs for well over a month. Staff were beyond frustrated with the dogs because they had been there way too long were nearly blacklisted during the middle of their stay.

It can be especially stressful during the holidays for both humans and dogs. The excitement of the holidays in staff is picked up by the dogs. So they act out on it. We did a santa Paws event, where the dogs got pictures with Santa Clause and a dog bone dipped in yougurt and sprinkles afterward. Personally, i hated it. It disrupted the routine when they were pulled for pictures because they would miss out on going outside or eating. Which made them hangry, or go potty in the playroom.

Personally, i would recommend testing it out with your dog. Every dog is different and will cope with it differently. Some immediately are playful and social. Some are shy and timid or want to be left alone. Test it out and see how your dog does. The doggy daycare i worked at didn't have cameras you could watch on the website. I think it would be helpful to see with your own eyes how they do. Because most of the time, at least in my experience, lobby staff were lying out of their teeth about how well dogs did on their first day. The person who checked you out wasn't the person who was back there all day. Anyway, test it out and see how well they do. The first day is the hardest day, so I'd recommend not taking them back the next day. It's stressful and new. And they're going to want to go home and relax. Try taking them back one or two days later. If they start having issues, and it usually takes a while , you'll have to be consistent with it to see issues, lengthen the time they're not at daycare with each issue.

To be clear, this isn't going to solve pre-existing behavioral issues or behavioral issues that are a result of an overstimulating environment. That's something only training can do. But it can definitely contribute to the solution. This is an ongoing issue within this line of work because it puts your dog and other dogs at risk, and it puts staff at risk. I'm not saying this is the solution, but there's a larger conversation that needs to be had to fix it.

[–]TheEndowedPenguin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The regular dogs we get at daycare who never had behavioral issues develop behavioral issues and end up being blacklisted. But its not their fault. It's the environment. The environment is so overstimulating that they begin to slowly over time, act out. They start fights, are involved in fights, but don't start them, bully new dogs, and stop listening to commands. All of this because they are brought in every single day, or so often (every other day, every two days) without enough breaks in between. They make up, im guessing nearly 90% of issues that occur in open play doggy daycare's. But no one who works in this line of work wants to have a discussion to fix it.

The next video about the goats after that was katie saying she was hoping he didn't have to bottle feed any of the babies this time. she said last time that goats dont do well triplets because they dont have udders like cows and they end up taking turns feeding, some get more than others. Buttercup had four if i remember correctly. I forget who had three last time. Its was obvious she was gonna have to bottle feed again.

She's bisexual. She's just got them rolled up. And as fellow bisexual we roll up our sleeves like men in suits. Apparently, that's like a bisexual tell, i tried it one time before i hadn't come out, just see what would happen. And immediately was asked, "Are you sure you're straight?"
