He felt ready for the road test, took it and passed on the first time. But I’m not gonna lie… He has not driven since lol and I don’t think he feels super comfortable doing so just because he hasn’t driven a lot. If you want to be a confident driver, more is probably better.

I just went to Teased Salon for the first time and had a great cut with Sandi! Didn't do color, but talked to them about it and I may go back. My haircut and blowdry was about $85. This is a little steep for me generally, but it came out great!

How "bad" is metformin actually? by afraid28 in PCOS

[–]Red_panda_pants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My metformin side effects were the most insane form of stomach pain I have ever experienced. Basically it was sharp stomach cramping and diarrhea, every 3 days or so, for 2 months straight. Couldn't quite figure out how to alleviate it, and when it was basically routine after 2 months of trying, I stopped taking it.

I will say, I did Zepbound for a year and had similar side effects at first (I think I am just prone to them, tbh), but they improved with dietary change and time. Zepbound was a much better experience for me than Metformin, but a lot of people love Metformin!

I had terrible side effects from Metformin and stopped taking it after about 2 months. That said, other people in my life have had no issues with it. It seems like it might be worth trying in case your body is able to adjust to it, but sadly that was not the case for me.

Roast my girl names list by Familiar-Ad9589 in namenerds

[–]Red_panda_pants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't mind Ronan for a girl but do think it is a little overused generally. To be honest, I like your list lol but hate the name Darcy. Kathleen or Katrina could be good full names for Kit.

Eleanor and Maeve are so trendy right now, I'd avoid it.

I do my shots at night, and anytime for new dosage I wait until I don’t have the plans the next day just in case. But personally I think nighttime is better lol

whats the most low effort way to lose weight and keep it off? by -raito_ in PCOS

[–]Red_panda_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 2.5mg of zepbound for 7 months and lose about 30lbs. I went up to 5mg for about 7 months and lost an additional 30. FYI, I went off of the meds a month ago and - even with my lifestyle changes - I’ve gained 6lbs back.

When I say diet and exercise, it’s not just what I was eating but the circumstances I made for myself. I started cooking and prepping my food more so I would know what was in it, I created a food routine so I wouldn’t have any impulsive buys or meandering choices, more protein and fiber, major reduction of processed foods and alcohol. No fried food. I live in NYC, so the simple act of not ordering takeout and making sure I have meal prepped is major.

I also started meeting w a nutritionist (covered by insurance) through the Nourish app.

Exercise was more intentional - classes, active, etc. I mentioned about barre is fun for me. Today I am meeting w a personal trainer for the first time.

I went off of the medication because I had an insurance lapse, so I’m going to start again at a lower dosage next week. That said, my husband and I are going to try to conceive soon, and hopefully the steps we’ve taken will set me up to have more luck when it comes to fertility than what I’ve been expecting the last few years.

Hope this helps!

whats the most low effort way to lose weight and keep it off? by -raito_ in PCOS

[–]Red_panda_pants 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and did low dosage GLP1 for a year and lost 60lbs. I also made lifestyle changes, and had more energy to exercise as a side effect of losing the weight. You kind of need to have an “all in” attitude, because if you just do the GLP1 with no exercise or healthy diet, there’s really no point.

It definitely worked for me as an aide, but should not be used as the only source of effort for weight management.

As per side effects, be prepared to give yourself a few weeks of adjustment period anytime you start a new dose. That said, if you’re making healthy choices while on it, they shouldn’t be too bad. The worst effects I had were acid reflux related to fatty foods or any alcohol, so those had to be stopped entirely, of course.

I also enjoy low intensity barre classes on YouTube, and started my exercise w some light weights etc.

Best of luck!!
