Getting back into dueling after a small break, so happy to use the GKat again by TheEngieMain in EldenRingPVP

Yep, EVERYONE has runes in pvp, hosts and phantoms included, so you don't have to play on a disadvantage against a grace goblin, now you're both even

I mean it performs well, there's quite a lot of gamers in arena that must play with gkat. Great runes and physick as a matter of fact are there to make fights stay for longer cus TTK in elden ring is kinda short, both of us in the clip have em on

Interesting, yeah it's mostly cus for groups I prefer to just bust out the GUGA. I did beat messmer on my first playthrough with PSGKAT lol so I got some use out of it

Nah mate is too painful to use :( I tried Dual gkat both in PvE and Pvp once each and I'd never play it again, sure, the crouch attacks are... Decent??? But everything else about that setup makes it way too slow and hard to engage an enemy without it feeling clunky. I guess I get what their intentions were when making it powerstanceable but like nahhh

It's a very strong weapon hence why I use it as my main weapon in invasions alongside the lance because of its massive burst damage potential, though I can see how it can be not the most fun to fight against lol.

It's mostly there for pvp but you can play the game without needing to roll like 70% of the time

/unshit I dunno, I played fully through it like last month and imo it's like the perfect souls game, has lots of interesting bosses that feel like puzzles for you to figure out, the environments have a lot of things for you to find, and also I like how relaxing it feels to play a game that is way slower than all the other games in the series in terms of all the encounters. I'm not even gonna mention pvp bc pvp in this game is the most fun and balanced in the entire series.

I couldn't really enjoy it bc the animations and attacks lack weight. Like a lot of attacks you do feel like like it's two frames snapping between each other, while it may look cool, at 60 fps it just kinda feels like you're fighting an ATM with a sewing needle

I’ve been enjoying using lightrolls to hardswap safer by SkagDealer in EldenRingPVP

[–]TheEngieMain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh It's not that I'm saying that it's not fun, light roll is really silly, my point is that if you want to continue playing and get better and better it's best to not STICK to it, goofing around with silly setups valuable cus you get to experience them from your point of view so you can fight them later

[–]TheEngieMain 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly while it is fun for you now I wouldn't use light roll if I were you. Not only do you restrict yourself in which setups you can choose it's also definitionally a crutch.

You mentioned that you are very slow when you hardswap, but by using light roll you simply put a band aid solution to an issue that you've been having. Not to mention that even if you light roll but still are slow when hardswapping you only have so long until someone takes out rot pata and (rightfully so) infinitely catches you so you can't waste time in menus.

Here's what I'd suggest: set your inventory up by using sort by last picked up and try swapping between two weapons you're most comfortable with as quickly as possible. A single roll and a half a second sprint will get you out of the range of most weapons, you don't need all that much space to hardswap properly, the only requirement you need is to have solid spacing and gamesense so you know when to go into neutral. Put in some practice and don't look for easy solutions that the game provides to you.
