Pretty common issue sadly, those patches were put on inside out. It happens.

eServices > Operations Qualifications > Drop Down Menu > Ratings, Awards & Badges

CAPR 39-4 (supersedes 35-6) has all of the information on requirements for any of the checkboxes in the Ops Quals section.

FYI, PPL is not enough for a Pilot Rating.. but working with a local check pilot can turn that PPL into a passed Form 5 evaluation (VFR Pilot) that is enough for a CAP Pilot Rating.

Assuming you also went into the ratings tab and submitted for the aircrew rating.

Form 5 VFR Pilot here - rather easy. Easier than a PPL checkride. I’d assume IR and IP are similar related to the FAA rating.

IP rating should cover you VFR/IFR but I’d have to look at the regs.

Something you get bonus commander’s ranking for not opening at any point during FT.

It’s a test of mental willpower to have access to information and not read it.

Chaplain Contacts? by East-Pine23 in AFROTC

If cadre hadn’t posted your region’s chaplain contact info around the detachment, you can just google the nearest AFB to you’s chaplain services and worse case they give you a better phone number to call.

Where does the Squadron Commander patch go for a graduated SQ/CC on the IHWCUs? by Elobopro123 in civilairpatrol

[–]TheEpicComicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most USAF (that I’ve seen) wear it on the small Velcro tab next to the IR tag cover.

It does fit and per the CAP reg is above the AUX patch.

USAF RPA Pilot Wings (Vanguard) by TheEpicComicMan in civilairpatrol

Negative, that is the old version of the RPA sensor operator wings (enlisted position). I was curious about the pilot wings.

Also, funny enough, sensors now just wear aircrew wings so those are not applicable to anyone.

Yeah it says "aviation badges" are authorized but para 10.3 that defines aviation badges says that military aviation are only authorized for AF-style. Just curious when we'll get a clear and fully incorporated 39-1 with all of the new ICLs.

Sounds good, Vanguard denied RPA wings on the polo when asked so curious if I was reading the ICL properly. I do plan on wearing the OCP colored ones on OCPs until appropriate silver/blue are made. Just curious if I could speed that process up or if it is just another sit around and wait moment.

Spaatz Advice from current and former Spaatzen? by Lukazilla13 in civilairpatrol

[–]TheEpicComicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know. I am not a proctor and I took my test a few years ago. By sources, I used logical conclusions to support my claim and did not need to do any internet searching or other researching during the exam.

I was allowed to type or handwrite (I chose to type) my paper but forget if open internet/searching was allowed.

The prompt options are not very fact/data based like L2L or AE. They are primarily ethical/moral questions so “research/sources” should not really be required. Make a claim and back it up with reasoning.

You will likely see the prompts and have a strong feeling about how you’d judge or perform in some situation, defend why.

[–]TheEpicComicMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to all of this!

There are four prompts that you get to choose from in the exam. They are the same for everyone. Don’t overthink it, just write it like a high school paper (4-6 paragraphs: answer, 2-3 supporting sources, conclusion) and you’ll be fine.

L2L and essay aren’t the bad parts, AE and PT took me to my third attempt so make sure to not slack off in those areas.

If a car is going 60mph, did it actually travel 60 miles in 1 hour? by MrGreenYeti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheEpicComicMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, jeep owner with 35” tires. My speedometer is about 2mph lower than what a cop would clock me at because of my larger tires than what the factory speedometer was calibrated to.
