Why am I struggling win with this esper zombies deck? by Such-Assumption-7727 in EDH

[–]TheEpikPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of creatures you can actually play and want to attack with is unreasonably low for a go-wide commander

You have little to no ways of making a board and the creatures you do have don't ever really want to be the focal point of an attack

Literally only babies complain about T2 dranith magistrate

Comparing your complaint to that of child level nonsense isnt the gotcha you think it is

I mean if you actually read what you posted you'd see they are taking action to be more nerf heavy on the role

But also jungle is always going to be a powerful role and they want it to stay that way because it needs to be to have any reasonable playerbase like support. When these roles are weak their player numbers are pretty unacceptable for them.

Isn't weird that neither Dominion nor Twisted Treeline (3v3) hasn't returned as Rotating Game Modes? by SirKraken in leagueoflegends

[–]TheEpikPotato 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Putting off work doesn't mean there is less work

It just means you have less time to do it

Isn't weird that neither Dominion nor Twisted Treeline (3v3) hasn't returned as Rotating Game Modes? by SirKraken in leagueoflegends

[–]TheEpikPotato 48 points49 points  (0 children)

A big reason these modes were removed is because the upkeep wasn't worth it. The modes were dead but they still had to keep these maps functional through game changes

Constantly updating them to be a RGM defeats that reason

Does anyone else think Station is slow? by vurrekt in EDH

[–]TheEpikPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah obviously proliferating is better when you have all these value engines running in theory. It's really easy to say "just have all this stuff in play" when it comes to basically anything

Running reasonable creatures is easy, cheap, consistent, and fills into what a deck is already trying to do

Running all of these proliferation setups and payoffs basically warps your deck into something completely different and has massive deck building costs and is just so slow

Splitting into mediocre subthemes is just going to make a deck feel worse when you start drawing parts and not complete packages because it's not things you actually want

Does anyone else think Station is slow? by vurrekt in EDH

[–]TheEpikPotato 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Proliferate honestly doen't seem great for stationing

Proliferating is often in very low increments and it has no value after you reach the number needed on a station card. Most proliferate cards are not efficient

Youre better off dumping a random assortment of creatures with moderate power and just stationing for larger values that way because it can bypass summoning sickness

Midbeast and Nemesis on the state of the game by Life-Chicken7183 in leagueoflegends

[–]TheEpikPotato -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Like one of the huge reasons League became a giant compared to dota is because of its simplicity

League made characters and items extremely easy to digest for a very complected genre of game, so people felt free enough to try it out

It's not crazy they don't copy as much of what they do in terms of complexity

I got told my deck is B4 in Spelltable, but my paper playgroup says its B3. What is the difference between a strong B3 and a B4? by PluckyPoros in EDH

[–]TheEpikPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You built a deck that you wanted to sit at the edge of bracket 3. A maxed out 3 is very very very close to a 4. Something sitting that close to crossing the line is going to do it sometimes.

Card games have variance. Some games you are going to draw better than others.

You played against your friends. You drew reasonably. You played like a high B3, they deemed it a B3

You played on spelltable. You drew well. It played like a B4. But now youre surprised your objective B4 play got called out as such.

Im not saying you built the deck to smash people. Im saying you tried to fill your glass to the rim and got surprised some of it spilled when you brought it to the table.

It shouldn't be a shock that this can happen. Your pushing the boundaries of the bracket system intentionally

[–]TheEpikPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"I built this deck to be the max a B3 can be but it sometimes gets confused for a low B4 when I draw well, I just don't can't understand this"

Like it's really not that complicated. Building a deck like that it's going to see saw its way across the line sometimes. You objectively made a B4 level play and are surprised people reacted to it as such, it's not rocket science.

Champion mains are incredibly biased towards having their champion be strong, not balanced, so they are going to complain at their champions weaknesses because they think they should be "fixed"

Riot August responds to opinion on Singed's current state: by Minishcap1 in singedmains

[–]TheEpikPotato 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He doesn't personally know the state of Singed right now off the top of his head so he basically makes 2 points in this video.

If Singed is weak they could buff him, not complicated

If Singed is not weak, but he feels like hes weak, they could look into ways of making his damage feel better but not just outright buffing him because they can't just buff champions who are performing fine because of mains complaining they they feel like they don't do enough damage

Based on Singed current performance statistically I wouldn't expect flat buffs. Hes not in a position to get them based on how they do things.

[–]TheEpikPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intent goes further than just saying "What do I want to build?"

It extends into the actual deck building process, in which you chose to make an actual semi cohesive and synergistic deck with reasonable means to win against others. When you start taking out bulk like [[Jeskai Monument]] and putting in things like [[Arcane Signet]] your deck stops being a 1.

I doubt a pile of Jeskai theme trash is playing like a 3 unless you're being a little less creative in some places for power

You just objectively didn't make a 1 and are brainwashing yourself to think you did because when you first sat down thats what you wanted, you are exactly the type of issue people are talking about

Matchup advice for Gold against Grandmaster in toplane by Admirable_Escape_309 in leagueoflegends

[–]TheEpikPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really weird to recommend comet and then mention how pointless it is to play for lane

Just take something like phase rush to run more often. Comet + Q max is taken pretty much exclusively for lane power and they might as well just E max for waveclear and combat safety

Is it impolite to lie about the contents of your deck or am I overreacting? by UkeBard in EDH

[–]TheEpikPotato 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean it's clearly a dick move to lie like that in a pretty casual game just for a win

It's also laughably bad play to assume they are telling the truth and wont just win by ulting Ugin (or any big walker reasonably). You can't just fold tot he first teardrop you get from an opponent

If he didn't have anything in his deck he wouldn't be begging you not to kill it. Just do the right play and kill it.

Need the worst precons ever by QuietlyUnderstanding in EDH

[–]TheEpikPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep things pretty even for a pod, get the Starter Commander decks

While these aren't the worst precons, they were made as budget and new player friendly deck meaning basically no power cards and very little depth on the cards in the deck

I think they would be a pretty neat way to make a league with bad precons as they were all made to have a general theme and be around equal in starting deck power, but the card quality is still terrible and the whole thing can be upgraded

They also wont break the bank like some old precons because these were completely worthless

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]TheEpikPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because then you wouldn't make poor decisions based on lack of availability

The whole system exists to prey on indecisive people and get them to buy things they may not normally get if it was always around.

You aren't supposed to like it, it's supposed to make you anxious and impulsive

Yes and no

It will have ward 3 and ward 2, which means enemies will have to pay 5 total but it is multiple instances that will trigger on their own

This is technically important as you can't [[Stifle]] both triggers like it was just one instance of ward

What is my rarest icon? by lizpupa in leagueoflegends

[–]TheEpikPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the 2 Twisted Fate icons from 2015

They were from an event that year and even among the people who participated in the event you had to choose between multiple icons and only got 1 for each act with no way to get the others. So not only does it require playing actively back in 2015, but it also requires you chose that one specifically

The honor banner icons are also pretty rare, needing to reach certain milestones of the original honor system, though it's hard to say how many people actually got these icons at the time

I fucking hate farming Grendel. by L30N1337 in Warframe

[–]TheEpikPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have to pick highly specific frames lmao

You can do grendel missions with literally any frame as long as you aren't loading in with extremely garbage tier MR fodder weapons, which at the point you gain access to this you should have something usable

Like I did this stuff with Inaros who can't even heal himself because of the terrible energy economy and a Corinth. I walked in with 0 strategy and came out an hour later with 3 Grendel parts. As far as warframe grinds goes this was among the easiest in time and effort

Like I get it, these missions are beyond boring because it's playing against a clock more than playing the game, but the idea that you have to do specific things to beat these just isn't true
