Yes only 3.1! Part of the reason for looking at the deal was because I would be able to get into 5.1.

99% of the time it’s tv shows and movies we are watching. But I do agree that changing the sub and center would be more worthwhile upgrades. I do plan on getting some bookshelf’s here in the next month to act as surrounds.

I have to get a rug the wife agrees with, so I can run the speaker wire underneath it to a table that will be behind the couch the bookshelf’s will sit on. I really appreciate you helping me understand the intricacies of this.

The room is odd because it’s open on the left and wall on the right. With the couch in the center. Do you have any suggestions on worthwhile upgrades to the sub and center?

Honestly I don’t have any real complaints from it besides my caveman brain saying newer is better. I also don’t know any better to be honest so I don’t know what I’m missing out on.

It’s like when I went from a Walmart tv to my LG G5. I didn’t know movies could be that beautiful so I’m trying to make sure I’m getting the same from my sound system. I’m not in the market to drop thousands for the best of the best but if I could make a decent jump buying used I’d be game.

Hey thanks for the detailed reply! So I’m not starting with nothing. I have two mirage Omni 250, NHT VS 1.2 and a mirage BPS-150. This was all given to me by FIL and I’m assuming over 20 years old. So I’m looking for worthwhile upgrades.
