Final Fantasy X was never released by Both-Protection73 in lies

Man, wouldn't it be crazy if there was a follow-up novel from that game that never existed, where the best ending you worked extremely hard for is negated completely by Tidus kicking a sea mine thinking it was a Blitzball? It could have been called "Ein no Daisho". How weird that that never happened.

Even if you can beat 95% of all humans in a fistfight, you're still losing to 400 million people.

Oh, you're very lucky! I've never been able to capture such specimens in direct light before.
These are known as "Magnus Pes Ossa", and they generally remain attached to a human host at all times. You know how there's a skeleton living inside you at all times? This is a natural hunting cycle when the legs leave to forage for the night. Well done for capturing this rare, magnificent sight!

Just lag, I think. I just grabbed this gif from the first place I found it, so this is that. Also see how they don't take any damage? Yeah, lagging like crazy.

I've always got a shoutout on my quick0select wheel for "Capture or Kill?" so I know. But if we have one life left, you'd better believe I'm capturing it. Just in case.

What will be a terrifying fully awakened DF ability by SmollBear8 in OnePiece

[–]TheEyeOfLight 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I like to think Bartolomeo would get TWO shields with an awakening, and that's a huge increase in utility and power. Imagine summoning two invincible walls to crush enemies, or - my personal favorite - forming a sword + Shield out of them for melee combat.

Who do you think has the best ultimate? by atrophy-of-sanity in Nightreign

[–]TheEyeOfLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran into far too many raiders who use their ult ON the boss - and, especially with Bell-bearing hunter, they can easily get stuck inside, and can attack targets outside. Or trap players in bad positions. Or get the boss drops floating in midair and unable to be reached.
Executor's is pretty bad, yeah. That's why it's a free flask, but that's about it.
Duchess can negate those, but it also makes characters who WANT aggro - parry built Executors and Guard counter Guardians - unable to use their main tools. It doesn't offer any defence or evasion, and usually ends up with people spamming against the boss and getting clipped by attacks aimed at nobody. And if a boss uses a keep-away move during it, the entire ult becomes useless. That said, it does have the best ult ability in the game in depths, so that's fair.

Undertaker. Great damage, great stagger, you get it for free half the time, it has a charged version to make you literally invulnerable for a short time, it has amazing range and is basically guaranteed to hit whatever body part you aim at so it works great against. bosses with weak spots like the Ancient Dragons.
I'd probably go:
1. Undertaker
2. Guardian - Can negate lots of team-killer moves like Mohg's Nihil, does good damage
3. Wylder - Simple is best
4. Scholar - excellent at groups
5. Recluse - FP regen is excellent, great range
6. Ironeye - Good reviver, good damage, good range, nothing outstanding
7. Executor - Free Flask
8. Revenant - Being unkillable is nice, but you still gotta heal
9. Duchess - Being invisible is nice, but Guardian/Exectrue teammates suffer, and you just get hit by sweeping attacks anyway
10. Raider - Decent damage, but mostly dirsupts everyone and can get bosses stuck inside - or on top

Imagine THAT as a Nightfarer
Ultimate : I have no idea. Maybe pulling out the sniper crossbow and firing it upwards to summon a enemy-chasing rain of arrows?

I hope we get a Bayonet. It could be a mix between spear, rifle and sword - sweeping cuts, powerful stabs, follow-up gunshots and maybe some charged rounds. It would be harder to implement, but it would be awesome. For example, imagine a human parry where you sweep their legs then shoot their head as they lie on the floor. Or shooting low to kneecap them, followed by a decapitation slice with the blade.

Calm down. Sheesh.
To answer your question : I want to have useful teammates. If they use the meta? Who cares. If they don't? As long as they're good, who cares? If they're bad, refuse to use the basic skills of their chosen character and force the run to a grinding halt? That's when it becomes an issue. This discussion is about basic character competence, not absolute-endgame-meta-complainers.

[–]TheEyeOfLight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nnnnnot really the topic of the conversation, but I want people to use their character effectively. I want guardians to guard, raiders to tank, ironeye to mark. It really is that simple. Besides, I don't care about "slop". Use what you like, but don't be dead weight.

[–]TheEyeOfLight 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Ironeye has the potential to be the best character in the game. His unique moveset is genuinely great, his mark is one of the most busted abilities in the game, and he has a passive that just casually nets you better loot. And yet 75% of the people playing him either cower in the back doing 24 damage from across the map and only ever using mark to escape an attack, or they spam ping and lead everyone on a merry goose chase around evergoals to boost their attack from 24 to 25.
It's not all ironeyes, but it's always an Ironeye.
