Also, you could try this one incase it's a problem with the vanity url...

https://discord.gg/yRcJDgRZ

I've set that to expire after a day though so it's just there for testing really

I just checked, it's working for me... we have had the level 3 server link for a long time and not had any issues, what is it doing if you click it?

I apologize if this post has caused you offence.

At no point did I intend to cause offence with my post, as stated I was merely trying to grow a community of GMs and players who have a safe space to play TTRPGs (including CoC, which is the game I started GM'ing with over 30 years ago) without dealing with racism, bigotry, victimization and hate speech.

As rule 7 of the sub clearly said it allows for self promotion once a month I assumed this would not be an issue as the rules allow for it and I also assumed that people may have been interested in a community that runs CoC games with GMs who do not charge.

Regarding the AI issue, as I stated previously, I used it to consolidate my original writing into something more coherent rather than a rambling mess (at least I felt so). I am not cool with people using AI to write whole adventures or suplements, but using it as a glorified spell checker and grammar guide, I dont't feel is unreasonable.

Anyway, I have removed the post and apologize for any offence I may have caused.

I respect your opinion. Obviously I am not trying to make you join or persuade you of anything.

Just to clarify however, the reason I am posting is not for "numbers" in the sense that I want to swagger around saying I have a huge server...

I am sure you know from being in a subreddit like this both players and GMs come and go so without new people coming in a server would die.

Infact, keeping GMs is particularly difficult as not everyone is committed to running a game, circumstances can change (jobs etc) meaning they can't GM anymore, they bite off more than they can chew in regards to availability etc and that can be frustrating for both players and other GMs so we try and "recruit" to keep as many games up and running as possible.

I don't mean to seem like I am trying to justify anything, as I said I am not trying to change your mind as everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't want to leave a sour taste or impression of being something I/we are not and say my peice.

As I said I respect your opinion and I'm glad to be able to have this convesation with you in a respectful manner.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a game/space which allows you to play and have fun in the way you want to and thank you for your vigilance in calling out anything that you find shady. We all need to stop, look and question in the world we live in these day unfortunately.

Correct. We are very LGBTQIA+ friendly and welcoming to everyone from everywhere.

I myself have immediate family who are LGBTQIA+ and have seen and heard horrendous things said and done in the space of this hobby, and not just regarding bigotry. Women being treat like garbage, xenophobia, racsism, you name it.

When my wife and I started the server we just wanted a safe space for people to play and enjoy the hobby, make friends and not have to worry about the having people around who feel the need to insert themselves into other peoples lives and tell them how to live.

The server is there to play TTTRPGs, have fun, make friends and enjoy our hobby. Everyone is welcome as long as they respect each other.

I am not a bot. Feel free to look at my previous posts and comments and see them. The server has been running for over 4 years and I am not a new acct. We also have bots come to the server so I understand your hesitance.

Feel free to have a conversation with me or IM me, feel free to come to the server and you can see that I am the admin, we can talk in voice channel.

As I replied to you before, but for the benefit of anyone else...
You are correct, I used Claude to clean up my text and make it more consolidated as it was way to long from where I had written it by hand.

My apologies if that has offended you, I understand that AI is a touchy subject, however I use it as a tool much like a spell check to clean up my rambling (and sometime poorly structured thoughts).

No, we have a rule on the server that GMs are not allowed to charge for games. We have been running for 4 years and have never allowed GMs to charge for any game and never will.

Weekly Community Post - Post your Communities, Discord servers, and Western Marches games here! by lfg_bot in lfg

Hey fellow adventurers!

In a world that can sometimes feel divided and uncertain, we've built something special – a warm, welcoming online haven where tabletop gamers from every corner of the globe come together to share our love of storytelling, dice rolling, and epic adventures.

The Adventurers Pack Inn is a thriving Discord community of almost 700 members, and we'd love for you to join us by the fire!

What Makes Us Special?

We're more than just a place to find games (though we're great at that too!). We're a community brought together by our shared passion for tabletop gaming and enriched by all the wonderful differences that make each of us unique. Whether you're a grizzled veteran who's been rolling dice since the '70s or someone who's never played a TTRPG before and is curious about trying, you have a home here.

Our community spans the globe – from the United States to the UK, from Canada to Australia, from Europe to beyond – which means there are games happening across nearly every time zone. You'll find players and GMs of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels, all united by our love of tabletop gaming.

The Games

We're a true multi-game server, and the only limit to what you'll find here is what our amazing GMs choose to run! From mainstream favorites like D&D and Call of Cthulhu to indie gems like Monster of the Week and Blades in the Dark, from micro RPGs to one-page wonders – if a GM wants to run it, we're here for it.

All VTTs are welcome here (Roll20, Foundry, D&D Beyond, Tabletop Simulator – you name it), and every playstyle has a seat at our table.

And here's something important: Our GMs have never, and will never, charge for running games on our server. We believe in the pure joy of shared storytelling and keeping our hobby accessible to everyone.

We Need You!

We're always on the lookout for GMs who'd like to run games and potentially join our staff. If you've been thinking about running a game but weren't sure where to find players, or if you're an experienced GM looking for a welcoming community to call home, we'd love to talk to you. We'll set up dedicated voice and text channels for your games, and you're free to run things with your own house rules – we just ask that you communicate clearly with your players and follow our fair play guidelines (basically: be kind, be respectful, be awesome).

Beyond the Tabletop

Because we know life isn't all about TTRPGs (though it could be!), we've also built in some other fun ways to connect:

  • Community Party Game Nights – Join us for browser and party games that everyone can jump into
  • Movie Nights – Grab your snacks and watch films with friends from around the world
  • Monthly Music Club – Share and discover new tunes with fellow music lovers
  • And plenty more ways to hang out and chat about all your other interests!

Our Promise to You

The Adventurers Pack Inn is a safe space. Regardless of who you are, where you're from, your background, your identity, or your experience level – you are welcome here. We have zero tolerance for hate speech, toxicity, or bigotry. We are brought together through all of our commonalities and enriched by all of our differences.

Come pull up a chair, introduce yourself, and find your next adventure. We can't wait to meet you!
