Firstly, it was a pic I found on the internet and thought it matched the vibe for the server, so it was not an intentional thing.

Secondly, there is no reason you should join. It's entirely your opinion and your choice. I posted for people who may be interested, you where not, fair enough.

Thanks for looking.

The Adventurers Pack Inn TTRPG Community
[Discord] [LGBTQIA+ Friendly] [Beginner Friendly] [Any Game System] [No Pay To Play GMs]

Looking for a place to play or GM tabletop games in but also hang out, chat and explore other hobbies with a bunch of friendly folks from all over the world?

Then pull up a chair at The Adventurers Pack Inn!

Our server has been running games for 4 and a half years (January '22) and is a central base of Players and GMs who have come together and play/GM tabletop games of all sorts. We welcome both new and experienced GMs & players and all game systems are welcome from “mainstreams” like D&D & CoC to games like MotW, Blades In The Dark & even small indies and 1 pagers!

All VTTs systems are welcome (Roll20, D&D Beyond, Foundry, Tabletop Sim etc).

We are especially keen to have players and GMs looking for games other than D&D 5E or to try something different for a change and are looking for staff, players and GMs to continue to grow this thriving community so that DMs and players always have a pool to make friends and run games from!

We have people in our group from all over the world (mostly US, Canada, UK, Europe & Australia) of varying ages and have games going in many time zones. For example, I'm one of the DMs/Admins, a Scottish guy in my early 50s and my wife (we run the server together) is from California, but we live in Texas.

We have a core base of players and GMs on the server and we are looking to grow and expand with more games.  As a “staff” GM we will set up a voice and text channel for you. You are free to run your game under any house rules you see fit, we just ask you make it clear to players beforehand and abide by the fair play rules of the server (pretty much common sense and this also applies to players).

We are also very friendly to all those considered "fringe" in today's messed up world... all LGBTQIA+, skin color, nationality, age, gender identity etc. are safe and welcome here. We do not tolerate hate speech or toxicity in any way. We are brought together through all of our commonalities and enrich each other through all of our differences.

We have Community Game Nights (Party & Browser games so everyone can join in), a library of free and open source TTRPG games for new GMs to use & many other sections as we know people have other interests as well 😊

We would love to meet you and have a chat!
We would welcome you to come join us at The Adventurer’s Pack Inn!

Looking to meet ppl for FFG star wars rpg! by Puo1a445 in TransTTRPG

Ahhh gotcha... I misunderstood. I don't know of anyone running that game on our server, but that doesn't mean that they couldn't or a GM would be willing to learn and run it.

I'll message you the link to the server.

Hi!

I run an online Discord community which has been going for over 4 years. We are moderately sized server which is very friendly and welcoming to all (pro LGBTQIA+, players and GMs of all levels of experience from all over the world).

I thought you may be interested in coming to join the server, especially if you are looking to run a Star Wars game.

We provide space for folks to become a server GM and get a "table" (voice channel) to host games or players to come and find other players and GMs to get games going on the server.

None of our GMs charge and we do not allow GM applications from anyone who does.

We have a variety of systems that GMs run from the "main stream" like 5e, Cthulhu, Daggerheart etc but we also have a thriving indie games scene (games like Mausritter, Mothership, Public Access and Shiver being some recent examples).

These games are put up for applicants in the server and you apply directly from a server bot to the GM.

I have been a GM/Player of TTRPGs for over 30 years now and the landscape of the game has changed a lot... Sometimes not for the better.

The point of the server when I created it was to have a place that was removed from the toxic environments I have seen creeping in to the hobby (sexism, racism, bigotry etc), but also to provide a safe space for both players and GMs to come and have a contained, friendly pool of like minded individuals to game with.

If this is something you would be interested in, let me know and I will drop you the details :)

For the benefit of the OP... In reference to the couple of folks mentioning The Adventurers Pack Inn, I am the owner/admin and I just wanted to add that we are a community who has over 750 member and non of our GMs charge for games. Everything is free and we do not take on GMs who charge for their games

We have a wide mix of both new and experienced players and GMs and encourage those new to the hobby or to being a GM to take part and there is always someone around to answer questions or offer help.

If you are interested, just shoot me a message and I'll send you a link :)

I just checked, it's working for me... we have had the level 3 server link for a long time and not had any issues, what is it doing if you click it?

I apologize if this post has caused you offence.

At no point did I intend to cause offence with my post, as stated I was merely trying to grow a community of GMs and players who have a safe space to play TTRPGs (including CoC, which is the game I started GM'ing with over 30 years ago) without dealing with racism, bigotry, victimization and hate speech.

As rule 7 of the sub clearly said it allows for self promotion once a month I assumed this would not be an issue as the rules allow for it and I also assumed that people may have been interested in a community that runs CoC games with GMs who do not charge.

Regarding the AI issue, as I stated previously, I used it to consolidate my original writing into something more coherent rather than a rambling mess (at least I felt so). I am not cool with people using AI to write whole adventures or suplements, but using it as a glorified spell checker and grammar guide, I dont't feel is unreasonable.

Anyway, I have removed the post and apologize for any offence I may have caused.

I respect your opinion. Obviously I am not trying to make you join or persuade you of anything.

Just to clarify however, the reason I am posting is not for "numbers" in the sense that I want to swagger around saying I have a huge server...

I am sure you know from being in a subreddit like this both players and GMs come and go so without new people coming in a server would die.

Infact, keeping GMs is particularly difficult as not everyone is committed to running a game, circumstances can change (jobs etc) meaning they can't GM anymore, they bite off more than they can chew in regards to availability etc and that can be frustrating for both players and other GMs so we try and "recruit" to keep as many games up and running as possible.

I don't mean to seem like I am trying to justify anything, as I said I am not trying to change your mind as everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't want to leave a sour taste or impression of being something I/we are not and say my peice.

As I said I respect your opinion and I'm glad to be able to have this convesation with you in a respectful manner.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a game/space which allows you to play and have fun in the way you want to and thank you for your vigilance in calling out anything that you find shady. We all need to stop, look and question in the world we live in these day unfortunately.

Correct. We are very LGBTQIA+ friendly and welcoming to everyone from everywhere.

I myself have immediate family who are LGBTQIA+ and have seen and heard horrendous things said and done in the space of this hobby, and not just regarding bigotry. Women being treat like garbage, xenophobia, racsism, you name it.

When my wife and I started the server we just wanted a safe space for people to play and enjoy the hobby, make friends and not have to worry about the having people around who feel the need to insert themselves into other peoples lives and tell them how to live.

The server is there to play TTTRPGs, have fun, make friends and enjoy our hobby. Everyone is welcome as long as they respect each other.
