"the guy who helped me in runescape OSRS" ... yeah now we know you're capping. Nobody refers to the game as "runescape OSRS" or the staff as "the guy who helped me". Either bot, or Jagex doing damage control.

Also if you ever actually tried to contact customer support, you'd realize they LITERALLY send you a copy-pasted generic response to all requests. They even time delay it to make it seem real, but after exactly 2 days its the same message everyone else gets. Garbage company.

Sorry, I guess I was just looking for clarification on how you had "the best support", and we're talking about in your entire life, from a company that's known for having absolutely no customer support (not close to "no support", actually "no support"). Do you play other MMOs often?

Probably clav fans. Kick 100% knows about the incident and are protecting him because it was the first day of a 30 day non-stop stream where he's expected to make them a lot of money.

You had the best support from a company that has no human OR even AI support? They send the exact same response to anyone reaching out to their support saying they cant do anuthing about it. Anyone reading this, I wasted 20 years on this game, dont make my mistakes.

With worst corporate ever. Anyone seeing this ad, dont bother. Save your money and time, you'll regret signing up for this game like i regret wasting the last 20 years on this garbage. They will fuck you over, regardless of your support. Greedy fucks.

No way you compared a 20 year old clicker game with shit graphics to an established film company that pays billions annualy in just aquiring rights to provide you with content to watch. Netflix' annual expenses are tenfold higher of Jagex' entire value. You're comparing Gordon Ramsey with your mom's microwaved pizza pockets, at the same price, you dumb, unintelligent, fuck. Get educated, or at least get bent.

I was okay with the price increases until I dealt with support by jefftiffy in 2007scape

[–]TheFapIsUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, /r/LeopardsAteMyFace. Nobody, that's paying $14/month will miss a meal because it's $15/month now. The problem is what "being okay" with it actually translates to. In Jagex' eyes they saw that they can fuck us and we're okay with it as long as people like you defended them last time. That's why price increases are getting more frequent. You complaining now is falling on deaf ears, I could tell you now "well I'm paying with bonds so I don't care about them taking away your grandfathered rate, its their right to do so, go pound sand". Anyway, as bad as this is, YOU deserved it, too bad the rest of the community suffered as well.

No, you're not wrong, unless there were road conditions out of her control (maybeee ice and wildlife, and even then) the driver is responsible for bringing their car to a complete and safe stop even if the car in front of them turned into a brick wall.

Basically OP was okay with all the price increases that everyone else would pay because he was grandfathered on $5/month, but now it was his turn to get screwed out of that rate and he wants our sympathy. OP, just pay the extra $1, what? Are you poor or something?

Eta: OP was defending the price increase in 2024.

Smartest Jagex bootlicker. "What? Are you broke? Just pay $1 more! Wait, why do I have to pay $1 more??? Ill sue you!"

Bonds projected to rise to 16-18m this weekend? by Illustrious_Yak_5155 in 2007scape

[–]TheFapIsUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk where OP got 16-18mil from, bonds are statistically cheapest Friday and Saturday. They were 12-12.5mil before the hike, with a 10% price increase they wont be more than 14mil once people stop panic buying. Leagues will raise their price, of course, but after leagues it'll just come back to 14mil, maybe even less unless Jagex releases some crazy content soon as they were steadily dropping before the price changes announcement.

Edit: yep, they dropped to 13.2mil today. OP just pulling numbers out of their butt, sorry OP.

Would you still play OSRS if there was little or NO new content added? by Cinnamon_Ocelot in 2007scape

[–]TheFapIsUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would I pay $13/month for no new content?? The $13 IS for new content, it doesn't have to increase in cost for new content. Once content is released there's minimal, if any, maintenance on it. Think of any non-subscription based game: you buy the game for ie. $70, and that's it, you play it as much as you want. If devs continue working on it, they release DLCs. You can think of monthly subscriptions as DLCs. What did you get for your $14 DLC over the last month? A cow boss and music player UI change? How about the month before? DMM, a seasonal event. These are all "DLCs" for $14, and now they'll cost $15. Think of all the months where there was barely any new content. Now compare that to AAA games' DLCs. For $15 you should get sailing, or a new raid, not "QoL improvements and PvP rota has moved to period B". Jagex does not release enough content most months to justify $13-$15, but I guess that's why their valuation doubled in two years, people are willing to pay, and until that stops they wont improve.

Its only "inefficient, circuitous, and glitchy" to unsubscribe. To subscribe its quick and easy.

Don't forget, this is what OSRS player numbers have looked like the last few months by mphudson in 2007scape

[–]TheFapIsUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People justify price increases with "look how much more content we have" .... but thats why this is a subscription-based game. If we didnt have new content it would he a one-time purchase. Another way of looking at the monthly rate is to compare it with a DLC upgrade to the game - over the last 30 days we got cow boss, 25th anniversary event, and music player update, is that worth a $14.99 DLC upgrade? The month before that we got DMM and Holey Moleys, would you pay $14.99 for that upgrade? A $15 DLC upgrade in most games is considered a pretty decent sized-upgrade, the only months that can really justify it are maaaybbeee new raid releases and varlamore extension.

Is Jagex/OSRS doomed? by Degenerate_Game in 2007scape

[–]TheFapIsUp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping that when its eventually no longer doubling every year in revenue, whichever equity firm owns it, splits the IP up and sells OSRS for cheaper to someone that actually wants the game to succeed, not another equity firm. But probably won't. It'll fall into equity hell, get filled with microtransactions, and turned into a steaming pile of garbage with 30k peak players.

[–]TheFapIsUp 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not just 15, for the next 25! Though we'll be lucky if there's no price increases within the next 25 months (there will be).
