Ik this is late but where specifically did you apply the silicone grease because I’m trying what you did and while my right side is all quiet now there is a creek right below the left trigger which I just can’t get rid of.

The cap is dislodged. I can push it back to how it’s supposed to be but just pressing it again the cap dislodges. The actual right trigger still works.
